Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the City of Friendswood which was held at
City Hall on February 26, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present constituting a quorum.

Chairman Decker called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Absent from this meeting: Gary Yokum, Lynda Harris and Thomas Rives.
Chairman Decker appointed Alternate- Members: David Dannemiller and Ron Bazzy as regular voting members for
this meeting.
Chairman Decker, called the hearing to order to receive public input regarding Matt Fleming requesting a variance
for property located at 310 Sedora, Lots 5, Shadow Bend Subdivision, Galveston County, Texas, for side and rear
setback of 4' for accessory building. City of Friendswood Code, Appendix C-Zoning, Section 7.Q.3. a
Discussion followed with Matt Fleming explaining his request and stating the accessory building was built before the
1984 Zoning Ordinance was,in effect
Hearing no farther input the Public Hearing was closed at 7:14 pm.
Code Enforcement Officer Gary Williams explained his interpretation of the request.
Discussion followed with the Code Enforcement Officer stating he was not aware of the provision exempting the
existing structure at the time the Ordinance was approved
*David O'Brien made a motion to grant an administrative variance due to the City incorrectly determ;=ng the building
was not in compliance with the setback requirements, based on Mr. Fleming's statement the structure was built
before the enactment of the current requirement and the City personal stated they had no reason to dispute this claim.
Seconded by: Ron Bazzy
Motion approved unanimously
