A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDS¾OJD PLANNING AND ZONING ca.1MISSION WAS
HEID ON THURSDAY, JULY 1, 1993, AT 7: 00 P .M. IN THE CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS. THE FOLLCWING MEMBERS WERE PRESENT:

BLAIR HAMILTON WITH HAMIL'ION AND ASSOCIATES ARCHITOCTS, PRESENTED THE
PROPOSED PLAN FOR A FULL SERVICE FUNERAL Ha-1E 'IO BE PLACED ON SITE. IT
WILL HAVE A CHAPEL AND WILL SEAT APPROXIMATELY 175 PERSONS. THE STEEL
STRUCTURE WILL HAVE A BRICK VENEER EXTERIOR ON ALL FOUR SIDES OF THE
BUILDING. THERE WILL NO!' BE A CREMATORIA. CCM•HSSIONER JORDAN ASKED
ABOUT A CURB CUT IN THE MEDIAN AT FM 518 AND MR. HAMILTON STATED HE WAS
NOT SURE IF THE STATE WOUID ALfJ:JiJ IT. CHAIRMAN BAKER ASKED ABOlJI'
PARKING AND WAS ASSURED THAT PARKING WAS ADEX:)UATE. Ycx;I RODRIGUEZ
ADDRESSED THE ca.1MISSION IN OPPOSITION STATING THAT HIS BUSINESS WAS
ADJACENT 'IO THE PROPOSED SITE AND HE FELT IT WOULD HINDER HIS
BUSINESS. WITH NO OTHER ca.1MENT, THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED.

REGARDING THE REPLAT OF THE ORCHARD.

THAT THE REPLAT WAS TO MAKE 'lID LOI'S F.Ra-1 THREE SO THAT THE 'lID
FAMILIES WOULD HAVE LARGER LCJI'S. CHAIRMAN BAKER ASKED FOR CCM1ENTS

CLOSED.

WHICH DID NO!' APPEAR ON THE AGENDA. CHAIRMAN BAKER REMINDED THE AUDIENCE OF THE JULY 4 BREAKFAST TO BE HELD AT ARENA PARK AND THE
GATHERING DINNER. HE ALSO REMINDED OF THE PARADE AND FIRE WORKS
DISPLAY TO BE HELD AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. BAKER THEN MOVED TO CONSIDER
THE FOLLCWING ITEMS:

5.CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACI'ION REX::ARDING THE PRELIMINARY PLAT

THIS ITEM WAS NOT READY AND WAS PUIJ,ED FRCT1 THE AGENDA.
6.CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACI'ION REGARDING THE FINAL PLAT OF
MUSTANG ACRES SUBDIVISION - 2 LOI'S.
THERE WAS DISCUSSION REGARDING THE AVAILABILITY OF UTILITIES TO THIS
TRACI' AND ENGINEER THCffllSON ENSURED THE CCMMISSION THAT THERE WERE
LINES WERE RAN WHEN THE HIGH SCHOOL WAS CONSTRUCTED. CCT1MISSIONER CRESS QUESTIONED IF THE PLAT COULD BE APPROVED BECAUSE rr WAS NOT ON AN
IMPROVED STREET. THCffllSON STATED THAT IT WAS AN ACCEPTED STREET
MAINTAINED BY THE CITY AND� THEREFORE BE ALI.a'i'ED.
