Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 6:31pm. 2. Discussion/Approval of November 28, 2017 minutes: Jeff made a motion to approve as presented, Natasha seconds the motion and it was approved unanimously. 3. Communications/Guest A. Volunteer Hours: Sherry informed the group to turn them in. B. Committee Reports (Oral and Written) **Executive Committee-Sherry Goen Grant Update, Letter to Businesses: The KTB Grant has been submitted; Sherry thanked everyone for their help and stressed how important the subcommittee reports were to the grant process. KFB will not be presenting at this summer’s KFB conference. **Keep Texas Beautiful-Susan Stephens (Harvey Landscaping Project, Adopt A Highway)-Harvey landscaping project, we can look at this later in a couple months. We have a section that is still available near Alvin. Jeff stated he saw trash bags on the right always on FM528 who should pick this up? James stated give us a call and we’ll have parks pick it up. **Public Awareness-Natasha McAdoo (update on Social Media): Natasha reported that we have 1902 likes on Facebook, at the end of the year. Reached over 100,000 people in 2017. 3% are ages 18-24, 28% 35=44 15% 45-54. Popular post reached 13,000, “Tree giveaway” 4470, “Marines are hear”, 3500, “Native plant workshop”. 2018, the photo contest is a good event to promote. **Education-Patty Steinke (Spring Workshop: Audubon Society, Jeff Glattly will be our presenter at our spring workshop and currently working on dates in April for the Audubon presentation. Wildlife Birds Unlimited, we usually book speakers that are affiliated with nonprofits, not with a business. So we want to work with Jeff on getting some bird friendly houses in Stevenson Park. Will have something confirmed by the next meeting. **Beautification-Kaye Corey thanked Todd for the great job he did with the tree giveaway. Kaye stated she wants to move forward with the Mayor’s proclamation for the monarch butterfly project. Continue with the project; add plants to that North American butterfly association. We can move forward with adding native plants to Stevenson and use it as an educational project to the community. Kaye requested we look into planting more native plants. **Parks: James stated we’re going to be meeting with a landscape architect in 2 weeks. We’re looking at doing some updates to the city pool and will include this in our master plan. Dog and Old City Park are starting to move, bid will be awarded in March. **Environmental Action: Looking for some areas that still have a lot of trash from Harvey. Susan stated if it’s near a water way we can call it a waterway cleanup. Compost workshop, have another one? Ask Galveston Bay is we can do a rain barrel workshop. Business Beautification, it will be presented to Blue Monkey. C. Median Maintenance: Median Maintenance, James stated that were still working with TxDot and not getting much information from them. We’re going to see if Keep Texas Beautiful can help us out. FM2351, were going to have a small subcommittee to discuss plans for the medians and resolve some of the problems from what we have now. D. Keep Friendswood Beautiful: **Santa in the Park Update: Board stated ticket line was a problem; the credit card line was slower than cash lines. Music was loud at the Santa line. The app turned out great. **Tree giveaway update: Tree giveaway turned out great, trees were gone within 25 minutes. **Liberty Tree update: Tyler did get some donations. Todd talked to Justin; he has a game plan on treating the tree. **Possible Date for KFB Spring Get Together: May 5th KFB get together. Send a list out. 6pm **Affiliate Reporting and KTB Dues: Kimberly is working on the reporting and will be submitting next month. **Budget Requests: Patty made a motion to spend $400 on gloves and sanitizer for the recycle club, Susan second the motion and it was approved unanimously. 4.
