1. Call meeting to order: meeting was called to
order at 6:30pm
2. Communications from the public:
3. Discussion and possible action regarding May 19,
2019: Barbara Blanchard made a motion to
approve minutes as presented, Chris seconded
the motion
4. Dignitary breakfast: Whataburger, Red Oak,
Brothers Produce, Dunn Bros – count –
approximately 75-100 – start decorating at 5pm
on July 3rd
5. Parade – trying to decide where to put the horse
trailers – church- First Baptist hasn’t called Tommy
back yet – decided to keep it at captains corner
since that’s where they will show up unregistered
anyway – painting street on the 2nd at 5pm – meet
at city hall – judges are Scott and Julie Holtje, Beth
Love, Nam Dinh, Angela and Richard Guidry,
James and Julie Taylor
6. Photo contest again this year – Tommy in charge -
notifying on July 5th
7. Day Program: 54 booths – presale wristbands
started on June 17th thru July 3rd – use booth
signage? – Michelle said no – need people to
bring cars and return – need to find out if the
dealership is open on the 4th – Michael to find out
– Michelle asked about park mowing – Stevenson
on Wednesday morning – vendor meeting at 1pm
on the 3rd – ice delivered on the 3rd 5pm – Michelle
needs extra barricades for the fashion bus
8. Gathering on July 3rd at Mary Queen
9. For lunch – 40 chick file sandwiches delivered for
staff and committee
10. Diane our new chamber liaison
11. Big float from Apollo committee – two story
float
12. Evening – food all ready for the band – the
band is bringing their own RV – 38 foot equipment
trailer and 31 foot RV – PD at junior high? James
to find out – maybe on the sky diving field? – Bus
status? 18 – James Toney is meeting with them in
the morning – Maggiano’s feeding the PD, fire
and ems – Katy picking it up at 5:30 – sound and
stage company coming the day before – we are
going to have to feed them lunch and dinner the
day before – sky divers comfirmed, fly over being
comfirmed – Big Voice – Barbara said ok – closing
park on June 26th – opening back up on July 8th –
Rene on back gate, Tommy on front gate – Kathy
is the chauffer at night – parking passes will be
ordered – people either need parking pass or
name on the list - no exceptions –
13. Voted for the two awards – see Katy
