Staff James Toney, Director of Parks and Recreation Katy Blanchard, Staff Heathy Whitty, Staff Rufino Ramirez Chris Scarpa Tony Scarpa Darrell Fales Terri Corbett Renae Rives Stacy Scarpa Terry McKee Dean Lewis, FISD Liaison 1. Call to order: Meeting starts at 6:05 p.m. 2. Communications from the public: Dean Lewis was at the meeting representing FISD Transportation, this year buses will run from FHS and the Methodist church. Dean stated that they have 24 drivers, possibly 26 drivers. Dean himself will be at the evening program. Small coolers only. Only service dogs allowed on buses. FISD will pick up sonic. FISD will give staff Radios for the night. 3. Discussion and possible action regarding April 18, 2018: Kathy made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, Chris second the motion and the motion was approved unanimously. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding A. Breakfast: Whataburger and Red Oak Café are confirmed, Barbara is reaching out to Brothers produce. She will also contact Bennete Rowley for Dunn Bros to provide the coffee. B. Parade: We currently have 12 entries for parade. Send out parade Grand Marshals to first responders. Invite Cajun navy. Will send out list to committee. Katy showed the shirt design that staff and committee will be wearing during the day. We’ll have a list of first responders on a banner at the parade. James and Julie Taylor, Scott and Julie Holtje are confirmed judges. Renae will do the parade judges entry sheet. C. Day program: As of today we have 40 booths. Katy will have a map ready by July 1st. Banners for the 4th of July, made by Downtown decorations with UV protection. They will cost $2,000 for 20 banners. Barbara made a motion to purchase the banners in the amount of $2,000, Kathy second the motion and the motion was approved unanimously. Kathy made a motion to spend $1,000 to contribute to the cost of the Stevenson Park map, Chris second the motion and the motion was approved unanimously. Kathy made a motion to choose the navy shirt for the 4th of July day program, Renae seconds the motion and the motion was approved unanimously. D. Evening: Have Centercourt pizza for evening program, Darrell will arrange. Barbara has confirmed the RV. Darrell, will ask for the use of the generator. FIDS will have 26 drivers. James stated that Al Saylor has confirmed. Fly over not confirmed yet. James Toney working on Carrie Marie for the National Anthem. Committee wants the Spazmatics for next year.
