The site plan was reviewed and a letter from Chief Stout was presented regarding the safety of the

plan that is filed with the specific use permit. The commission agreed that there was improved safety
relative to the initial proposal that resulted from the joint efforts of the District and the City, but the
view was expressed that a school site on a major thoroughfare was inappropriate from a traffic safety
viewpoint. Also raised as an issue was the impeding of traffic flow on FM 528 during periods of high
school traffic count.

The measurements of the detention pond are not shown, nor are the adjacent land uses indicated.
Steve Crawford with Guaranty Bank said he had an agreement with Parkwood Builders to increase
the height of the fence to 8 foot. There are questions about the fence; who owns it, who will maintain
it, will the footprint of the fence support an extra two feet of brick and if not, how will the fence be
increased to a height of 8 feet? The Commission would also like more information regarding signs
and asked for better screening of the pole lamp.
