Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission
January 5, 1998
A Special meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held Monday, January
5, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 910 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood,
Texas. The following members were present:
Finger -Chair
McVeigh
Grace
Measeles -Council Liaison
Cox -City Manager
Mickelson -City Attorney
Hodge -City Engineer
Lamb -Secretary
Burke
Storey
Clark
With a quorum present, Eubanks having resigned, Chair Finger opened the meeting of the Planning and
Zoning Commission and explained the purpose and order of a joint public hearing. The public hearing was
opened to receive public comment, either oral or written, regarding the following:
A A Zone Classification change request from Multiple Family Residential
Dwelling District -Low Density (MFR-L) to Multiple Family Residential
Garden Home District (MFR-GHD) for 8.0716 acres of land at 304 W.
Edgewood.
Harold Benson, joint owner of the property with Lorna Zeitler, addressed
the commission. The property was platted as a multiple family residential
community in 1984 and consisted of 45 units. The density is 6 units per
acre and will remain 6 units per acre under the new classification, if
approved. There were 3 citizens who addressed the commission, two of
whom expressed concerns about drainage, fencing, and construction.
Chair Finger explained that their concerns would be addressed in the
platting and permitting processes. Consideration of the zone classification
change request is currently scheduled for January 15, 1998 at the regular
meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission. With no other
