HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 2000-05-18 Regularf 1 I I l Minutes of a Regular Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission May 18, 2000 A regular meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held Thursday May 18, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 910 S.Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas. The following members were present: Finger -Chair McVeigh Frankovich Benthul Burke Clark Bertrand (7:25 p.m.) Hodge -City Engineer Steelquist -Development Coordinator Dominguez -City Planner With a quorum present, Chair Finger called the meeting to order to consider the following: Call to Order 1.Minutes for Approval: Motion: Second: Vote for: May 4, 2000 Mc Veigh -to approve Frankovich Unanimous Motion Carried 2.Communications from the public -None 3.Consideration and possible action regarding the Preliminary Plat of The Forest Section Eleven. Motion: Clark -to approve with the conditions of a 60 foot dedicated right -of-way with access to the existing 40 foot easement and the conditions as recommended by Community Development. Second: Benthul Vote for: 3 -Clark, Benthul, McVeigh Opposed: 4 -Finger, Burke, Bertrand, Frankovich · Motion Failed The developer, Mr. Dan Rucker, addressed the Commission regarding right-of - way issues. The commission was presented a letter from Mr. U.H. Jones, a landowner adjacent to Section 11 of the Forest. Mr. Jone's letter recommended a 40 foot right-of-way easement as a viable alternative to the 60 foot dedicated right-of-way with a paved stubbed street proposed by the Commission at the May f ! (, 4. 4, 2000 meeting. Mr. A.A. Joffrion, a landowner adjacent to the Forest addressed the commission regarding his concerns about access to his property which is likely to be affected by Section 11, of the Forest. Consideration and possible action regarding the final site plan of the Timber Creek Golf Course Club House. Item was inappropriately posted. No consideration or action was taken. 5.Consideration and possible recommendation to city council regarding a request for a specific use permit for a real estate office for property located at 307 E. Friendswood, a 0.482 acre tract of land being a part. of lot 4, block 9, Friendswood Subdivision, Galveston County, Texas. Item was withdrawn by applicant.
