HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 2000-02-21 Specialf 1 I l l p & z 2/21/00 Page 2 Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission February 21, 2000 A special meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held Monday, February 21, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 910 S.Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas. The following members were present: Finger -Chair McVeigh Bertrand Frankovich Clark Hodge-City Engineer Lamb • Secretary Measeles -Council Liaison Benthul Burke With a quorum present, Chair Finger opened the meeting to discuss the following: Docketed joint public hearing: To receive public input, either oral or written, regarding the following: 1.A request for a Specific Use Permit -Office Use, for property located at 402 E. Edgewood (FM 2351), 0.3857 acres, Lot 2, Hoidale and Coffman Subdivision, Galveston County, Texas. Mr. David Offenberger, owner of the property, discussed renovations to the existing building to be used as an office building. Mr. Bill Langdoc questioned the use of the facility and operations. Ms. Cookie Landoc stated that she was not able to receive any information regarding this specific use permit from city offices. No one spoke in favor of the specific use request, nor was there opposition. 2.A request for a Specific Use Permit -Dry Cleaning Plant, for property located at 102 S. Friendswood Drive (FM 518 at FM 2351-old Diamond Shamrock Building), Lot 3, Block 2, Friendswood Subdivision, Galveston County, Texas. Mr. Tommy Rives, representing the owners, discussed the changes that will be made such as building a contemporary professional facility, a drive­ through window shall be installed, state of the art equipment will be installed, a sealant will be used on the floors and walls, and two driveways will be eliminated, and stated that no outside dry cleaning will be brought into the city and the owner is committed to becoming a part of the community. No one spoke in favor of the specific use permit, nor was there opposition. l I l l p & z 2/21/00 Page 1 With no further comment, the public hearing was closed and the meeting adjourned.
