Minutes of a Regular Meeting
of the
Frienclswoocl Planning ancl Zoning Commission
March 2, 2000
A regular meeting of the Frienclswoocl Planning and Zoning Commission was held Thursday, March 2, 2000 at
7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 910 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas. The
following members were present:
Finger -Chair
McVeigh
Burke
Frankovich
Clark
Hodge -City Engineer
Mickelson -City Attorney
Measeles -Council Liaison
Jackson -CCDD Liaison
Lamb -Development Coordinator
Benthul
With a quornm present, Bertrand absent, Chair Finger opened the meeting to consider the following:
1.Communications from the Public -none
2.Specific Use Permit-Office, for property located at 402 East Edgewood (FM 2351 ).

Motion:
Second:
Benthul -to recommend approval with a sidewalk note added to the plat.

Vote For: Unanimous Motion Carried
Specific Use Permit -Dry Cleaning Plant, (FM 518 AT FM 2351-old Diamond Shamrock building).
Motion: Frankovich -to recommend approval with a revised letter attached.
Second: Benthul
Vote For: Frankovich, Benthul, McVeigh, Clark, Finger
Abstained: Burke Motion Carried
4.Preliminary Site Plan for existing Pilgrim Cleaners located at FM 2351 and Pecan.
Will be handled administratively -request withdrawn from the agenda.
5.Preliminary Plat of The Forest Section 9.
Motion: Benthul -to recommend approval with contingencies.
Second: Frankovich
Vote For: Unanimous Motion Carried
6.Discussion regarding a zone classification change request from Single Family Residential (SFR) to
Community Shopping Center (CSC) -HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH.
Proposed plans were discussed to plat two adjoining pieces of property into one piece and rezoning it to
CSC. The commission informed Harold Benson, representative of Hope Lutheran Church, there may be
opposition from adjacent landowners. Once a property has been rezoned, any permitted use within that
zone would be allowed. The City can offer no guarantees to the public that the property would be used for
a church facility.
7.Staff report -Plat name change for Timber Creek Golf Club. -The developer is changing the name of the
golf club from Turkey Creek Golf Club to Timber Creek Golf Club. The plat has not been recorded and the
change can be handled administratively.
