Minutes of a Special Meeting
of the
Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission
July 26, 1999
A Special meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held
Monday, July 26, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 910 S.
Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas. The following members were present:

Burke
Bertrand
Frankovich
Clark

Lamb -Secretary
Mickelson -City Attorney
Hodge -City Engineer
Measeles -Council Liaison
Chair Finger explained the purpose and the process of a public hearing. He opened the
Docketed Joint Public Hearing to receive public input, either oral or written, regarding:
A.A request for a Specific Use Permit -Residential for property located at
1212 Winding Way, .5223 acres, out of lot 48, Voss Subdivision,
Galveston County, Texas. Property is zoned Planned Unit Development
(PUD).
Evelyn Newman spoke in favor of the Specific Use Permit, and
there were no objections.
B.A request for a Specific Use Permit -Dry Cleaning Plant for property
located at F.M. 528, Lot 6 of the proposed Manison Commercial
Park, Galveston County, Texas. Property is zoned Neighborhood
Commercial (NC).
Peter Chow, presented the plans and artist rendition of the
proposed dry cleaning plant that will be located on F.M. 528 near
H.E.B. grocery. The new dry cleaning equipment purchased by
the owner of the plant, is a fully self contained machine which will
not emit fumes or chemicals. Dry Cleaning fluid is expensive and
is distilled so that it can be used several times over. Old chemical
and filters are kept in sealed containers and are disposed of by
professionals. There will be a ventilation system through the roof.
The building will comply with the Entryway Overlay Ordinance.
No one spoke in favor or in opposition to the request.
