Regular Meeting
Planning and Zoning Commission
December 16, 1999
A regular meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held
Thursday, December 16, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 910
S.Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas. The following members were present:
Finger
McVeigh
Bertrand
Frankovich
Clark
Benthul
Henry -Development Coordinator
Lamb -Secretary
With a quorum present, Burke absent, Chair Finger called the meeting to order to consider the
following:

Minutes for approval -November 4, 1999 and December 2, 1999 -approved as
corrected.
Communications from the public -none.
2.Stonesthrow Apartments, Phase II -the Commission reviewed the proposed plans.
There were no specific concerns at this time.
3.Discussion regarding the amendment of the Specific Use Permit (SUP) for Mary
Queen Catholic Church -there were concerns about landscape buffer between the
church and the residential community. Also, concerns about the right-of-way and
ownership of the road. These issues will. have to be resolved.
4.Discussion regarding a proposed Korean Methodist Church at
331 E. Edgewood (property zoned PUD) -there were no specific concerns at this time.
The petitioner was advised of the procedures, the Entryway Overlay District, and other
requirements.
5.Preliminary Plat Of Woodville I.
Motion: Bertrand -that the preliminary plat be approved with contingencies.
Second: McVeigh
Vote for: Unanimous Motion carried
6.Final Plat Of Maggie's Estates Located On Briarmeadow & Sunset.

Second: Bertrand
Vote for: Unanimous Motion carried
Final Plat Of Chandler Subdivision Located On Linson Lane.
Motion: Bertrand to approve
Second: Frankovich
Vote for: Unanimous Motion carried

8.Consideration and possible action regarding the following:
A.Residential Building Heights.
Linda Taylor, Friendswood's Building Official, suggested residences 40' in height
be allowed only on lots of 120 feet or greater in width. The Commission agreed
but added other stipulations -"and the area is a minimum of 15,600 square feet.
The height allowance is restricted to the primary structure and every foot above
35', 1 foot is added to the minimum setbacks.
9.Communications From:
A.Staff -none
B.CCDD Liaison -After the first of the year, CCDD is going to take over D03. In
addition, the CCDD will have use of 70 acre feet of detention.
C.Council Liaison -none
D.Commissioners -there will be a public hearing on January 3, 2000. Also, in
addition to the regular meetings, there will be a meeting on the 13th regarding
cluster homes and on the 27th regarding P&Z projects.a£a.m Claudia L. Lamb, Secretary
