HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1999-02-01 Specialr i I l Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission February 1, 1999 A Special Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held Monday, February 1, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 910 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas. The following members were present: Burke -Vice Chair McVeigh Hodge -City Engineer Lamb -Secretary Mickelson -City Attorney Cox -City Manager Measeles -Council Liaison Benthul Clark Bertrand With a quorum present, Finger and Frankovich absent, Vice Chair Burke opened the joint public hearing to receive public input, either oral or written, regarding the following: A.A Zone Classification Change Request for Property Located at 1408 S. Friendswood Drive, 7.1854 Acres, Galveston County, Texas from Community Shopping Center (Csc) to Multi-family Residential -High (MFR-H). Charles Anders and Homer Tutton presented the proposed request for individually owned townhomes. There will be approximately 60 single and two storied townhomes ranging from 1563 square feet to 2400 square feet. The streets in the subdivision will be public streets and there will be City services. The developers intend to develop the subdivision in two phases with the first phase containing 44 units. The second phase will be developed when the drainage issues are resolved, as the proposed detention pond may or may not be required. The plan is develop the property 2 buildings at a time, with a total of 9 buildings once fully developed. Janis Lowe, owner of the Uniplex Business Park, spoke in favor of the proposed development. Council member Hajecate presented a letter from a homeowner in Sunwood Subdivision that expressed concerns regarding drainage issues. B.A Request for a Specific Use Permit for Property Located at 1408 S. Friendswood Drive, 7.1854 Acres, Galveston County, Texas for Multi-family High with Specific Use Permit for Townhomes.
