HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 2005-04-04 SpecialMinutes of a Special Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission April 4, 2005 A special meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commi ssion was held Monday, April 4, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. in the city hall council chambers located at 910 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas. The following members were present: David Brakebill Bob· Bertrand Jim Gibson Kevin Holland Roy Klusendorf Mark Van Riper Sheny Weesner Loren Smith-City Attorney Diana Steelquist-Planner With a quorum present, Chairman Holland called the meeting to order to consider the following. 7:00 P.M.-DOCKETED JOINT PUBLIC HEARING 1.To receive public input, either oral or written regarding the following: A.A request for a zone classification change for 45.8921 acres, Lots 1-29, Block 1, Lots 1-24, Block 2, and Reserves A-G, property located at FM 518, Hunter's Creek Estates Subdivision, Galveston County, Texas, from: Single Family Residential (SFR) to: Planned Unit Development (PUD). Chairman Holland asked if there was anyone who wished to speak for or against the project. Mr. Thomas Lay, stated he had come prepared to speak against the request, but after to speaking to Kent Ballard, Mr. Lay did not have any objections. Mr. Dan Schroeder, 18 Mary's Creek Lane, stated he was opposed to the request. He had concerns about the safety of his family should an apartment development be built behind his property. Chaiiman Holland asked staff to clarify the subject of the Public Hearing. The Planner addressed the Council and Commission stating that the request before them was in regard to an existing subdivision, Hunter's Creek Estates, located behind the HEB off FM 518. The request is to rezone in order to allow for a private street gated subdivision. B.A request for a Specific Use Pe1mit (SUP)-Private Street, Gated Community, for 45.8921 acres, Lots 1-29, Block 1, Lots 1-24, Block 2, and Reserves A-G, property located at FM 518, Hunter's Creek Estates Subdivision, Galveston County, Texas.
