Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas. The following members were p1:esent: Bob Bertrand Michele Brekke Tom Burke Zekie Mc Veigh Tom Samson Diana Steelquist -CD Coordinator With a quorum present, Chaitman i3e1irand called the meeting to order to consider the following: Call to order: Docketed Joint Public Hearing: 1.To receive public input, either oral or written regarding the following: A.Request for Zone Classification Change for property located at # 8 Queens Lane, a 2.04 acre tract out of Lot 1, Block 3, Friendswood Subdivision, Abstract 151, Vol. 254, page 37, Galveston County, Texas, from: Single Family Residential (SFR) to: Planned Unit Development (PUD). B.Requesting a Specific Use Permit/Residential for propetiy located at# 8 Queens Lane, a 2.04 acre tract out of Lot 1, Block 3, Friendswood Subdivision,.Abstract 151, Vol. 254, page 37, Galveston County, Texas. Chairman Bertrand asked the applicant to address the Commission and Council with regards to both items since they are tied to on another. Mr. John Jolly, 2015 Aberdeen Drive, League City, addressed the Commission and Council. Mr. Jolly represented his father in law, Mr. LaCabe. The request is to rezone to PUD/SUP-residential due to a lack of access to the lot in order to subdivide into two lots. He is working with the Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District to provide 0.25 to 0.5 acres of area for a drainage easement. The tract will remain in use as Single Family Residential. Mr. Jolly indicated on the site plan for Council that the access for his lot crosses the Church prope1iy across #6 Queens Lane. In response to questions about fire safety, Mr. Jolly stated he had been advised by the Fire Marshal's office to use a sprinkler system in· the homes or build a private street up to the lots. Page 1 of 2 04/07/03 P&Z Commissioner Burke asked staff to provide the Commission with infmmation on the Maiy Queen Catholic Church SUP and the Wrightland's PUD/SUP-residential documentation. No one spoke in favor of the PUD request. Mr. Chai-Ies Michael, 211 Stanley Cou rt, spoke in opposition. He stated he was in attendance with several neighbors and they have concerns about the drainage in the area. He is opposed to the subdivision of this lot because he felt it could not be adequately drained. Ms. Doris Heard, 204 Stanley Court also spoke in opposition to the request. She stated her concerns with regards to the current drainage and flooding problems in the area. She recommended that a second drainage ditch be created to drain the area. She would also like to see the Catholic Church complete its proposed detention pond. Mr. Paul Street, #3 Queens Lane, expressed his concerns for increased traffic volumes on along the access easements and Cedar Oak should development take place. No one spoke in favor of the SUP request. Mr. Charles Michael stated his opposition for the reasons he stated earlier. 2.Adjournment.
