Discussion of the requests for rezoning aired at the V - • . public hearing held on 13 March, 1972 . Mrs . Maxine E ignus and Hr . George Ulbricht (Mrs . Eignus' sales manager) were in attendance as spectators . The Commission moved to table decision and recommendation to Council until the next regular • • meeting, two weeks hence . It is the Commission' s goal to come to a decision on these two petitions at this meeting. Mr.` Ulbricht' indicated that he had some new data on .traffic - flow into the area in question for re-zoning, hut . it was decided that acceptance of new data could only be done at a new hearing, so that, all interested, parties could have a • fair hearing (the established ground rules- of the Commission) . Mr. 'Ulbricht , did not wish to petition for such re-hearing. ) 2e Mr. Ualls accepted an action item to' review the testimony . . taken at the March 13 hearing to enable him to participate . -. .in ;the Commission' s decisions on Mrs . Mr. Homer Tutton, owner of Builder's Truss Co. appeared to discuss aV possible petition to re-zone his property and • ': the adjoining tract to the corner of 518 and 528 M-1 (light v'. industrial District) . His present usage of the property he • owns, to manufacture prefabricated trussses for buildings,. has been adjudged by the Zoning Administrator to be in violation of the C-1 District regulations, which opinion has been 'up- head by the Friendswood Board of Adjustment . • Mr. Tutton presently employs 20 men, of which one or two reside in Fr i©nd swood . Although he intends to expand his operation if city .approval of his use of the property can be obtained , • ::his employment will not substantially increase . He might find • it necessary to increase his hours of operation (presently 7 am to 7 pm) during times of peak demand . Ultimately, the open shed he has now would be supplanted by a closed. factory- - type structure, which would alleviate the noise of his oper- . ation (several neighbors have complained ,of noise) . _' ;,, I. 4 , ' t . •olas••"`'--1-'1`,:-••••111'2.;:r• ""--`••-•,`'l"-.2-_:•-•:"-:..-,1,-,----_,---A",-.-....,,...-,,',',..,,,,,..,,- --,-,-.:.:-,-.1.—.,..., ,ii....`-:‘,...:.--,.1.,,,..,...—---..-1...f...,---•Z--..-.—-:.—,..,....-,-.......?„. - -,...,.--,.: 1 . i . • '' • , . , . Tutton' s operation, with the possible exception of mention of a "woodworking shop" as one of the permitted uses . It might be necessary to petition for change of the N-1 district regulations(as well as rezone his area M-1 petition) . • The Commission informed Mr . Tutton of the process for petitioning for re-zoning, and pointed out that the hearing • for same conedtuted taking his case to the people of this City.
