Dear Sir:
I am requesting a hearing for a variance to Ordinance i74. The
ordance requires a (10 ) ft. side yard allowance and we would
like to build at (74) ft.
We purchased the property in October, 1973. It is in the
Leslyn Subdivision, owned by Dr. Jones. Before signing the
11/ papers for building the house with Superior Builders, we checked
with Mr. Workman, Dr. Jones, and Mr. Cline about the side yard
allowance and they all said 7 ft. was allowable! The builders
said he had a permit and proceeded to put the foundation form
up. We also started laying plumbing for the house.
Mrs. North then came by and told us about the 10 ft. allowance.
We tried to find the correct way to meet the requirements and
decided it would be easier to reposition the house and garage.
We submitted plans and told the builder of the changes. After
a week or so the builder said access to the garage was not
possible with the new arrangements. We also had taken up the
plumbing already layed. This was in July of this year.
The lot is one hundred across by one hundred ninety deep. We
do own the corner lot next to us. The complications of cutting
into this lot would be even worse.
We would appreciate your considering a 22 ft. variance on
both side yards.
Respectfully yours,
(7rIZZ")/(2,1,;-/c7
