HomeMy WebLinkAboutZBOA Minutes 1993-07-27 Regular ,r_• �'. • • Regular Meeting 0 Zoning Board of Adjustment July 27 , 1993 Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the City of Friendswood which was held at City Hall on July 27, 1993 with the following members present constituting a quorum: Chairman William H. Taylor Regular Member Mary Ellen Bellard Regular Member David O'Brien, III Regular Member Ann Talbot • Alternate Member Evelyn Brennan Alternate Member Gary Yokum Alternate Member Howard Yeager City Planner David Hoover Assistant City Secretary Linda Thornton Chairman Taylor called the meeting to order at 7 : 00 P.M. . Chairman Taylor and Board Members appointed Howard Yeager as a Regular Member for this meeting. Chairman Taylor called on City Planner, David Hoover to discuss possible changes in Zoning Ordinance 84-15 on substandard lots in the city. Discussion followed, David stated there would be changes made but these changes would not include rear set backs. Chairman Taylor called the Public Hearing to order to receive public input regarding request on seeking variance at 2305 South Mission Circle, Lot 50, Block 1, Section 1, Carmel Village Subdivision, for rear set back line requesting 11' variance from 25' requirement. Zoning Ordinance 84-15, Section P. Discussion followed, with Contractor Mark McGee explaining the request. This request was tabled at the June 22, meeting. Loda Bell, a property owner, called in her statement for the June 22, meeting stating she was for the variance. No further input was received from the Public. V: , ,t4 Chairman Taylor called the Public Hearing to order to receive public input regarding request on seeking variance at 1808 Coronado, Lo 14, Block 8, Section 1, Mission Estates Subdivision, for rear building set back line - requesting specifically a 6 ' variance from 25' requirement. Zoning Ordinance 84-15, Section P. Discussion followed, with owner Thomas H. Arcy explaining his request on enclosing a room. No further input was received from the Public. Chairman Taylor called the Public Hearing to order to receive public input regarding request on seeking variance at 1111 Melody Lane, Lot 30, Block 10, Hoidale and Coffman Grant, for placement of garage in front of residence. Zoning Ordinance 84-15, Section 0, 3 .a. Discussion followed, with owner John Shannon explaining his request. Neighbors', Mark and Sue Gentine at 1019 Melody Lane spoke for the variance. No further input was received from the Public. Hearing no further input the public hearing was closed.. * Ann Talbot made a motion to grant the variance at 2305 South Mission Circle, Lot 50, Block 1, Section 1, Carmel Village Subdivision, for. rear set back. Seconded by Howard Yeager. Motion approved unanimously. * Mary' Ellen Bellard made a motion to grant the variance at 1808 Coronado, Lot 14, Block 8, Section 1, Mission Estates Subdivision for a rear building set back line for 6 ' variance to the wall within 20' of property. Seconded by Howard Yeager. Motion approved unanimously.
