TAIT - SETBACK VARIANCE at 306 INDEPENDENCE Mr. Tait came before the Board requesting a variance on the side and rear setback of his property. He wishes to make his present garage into a bedroom and to place a detached garage with a game room above it on the back corner of his property. This would require a 2' variance at the side and 17' at the rear. - The Board asked Mr. - Tait his reason for presenting a hardship He stated if the structure was placed giving the proper setbacks by ordinance, it would destroy his back yard and would distract from his property. Mr. Tait had obtained a letter of agreement from all of the ajoining property owners. The board discussed the request and felt;'•it to be to great a variance to grant. They also felt a two story structure would present problems and be imposing from the surrounding neighbors. MOTION: (Taylor) to accept the request for setback variance at 306 Independence granting a variance of 2' at the side and 17' at the rear. Second: Tennison Vote: FOR Taylor AGAINST Tennison, Whitaker, Dykes The board discussed alternatives and suggested Mr. Tait consider adding directly on the home.
