MINUTES OF
FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING CO MMISSION (FPC)
MEETING OF JULY 22, 1968
Dean Saurenman (Chairman)
Tony Banfield
Tom Grae
John Van Bockel
BUSINESS ITEMS:
1.Architectural and Landscape Design Concept Planning.
Reviewed Mr. William 0. Parkers' (Planning Consultant
AIP) work proposal to provide Friendswood a unique
central theme for architectural and landscape design
which would apply to new building programs and reno
vation of existing buildings. The FPC, after discussion,
approved the proposal, (approximately $2,000 dollars)
and presented it to the Mayor and Council.
ACTION: Council will study and discuss further with
FPC Chairman.
2! Circulation Thoro ughfares. The Galveston County Urban
Transportation office forwarded a memorandum to the FPC
stating that there exists some variation in the
thoroughfares as depicted between the Bovay Engineering
Interim Report #2 and their (Galveston County) circu
lation map. They further stated that either circulation
plan was acceptable, but that they would like to know
which one Friendswood prefers. The FPC reviewed the
variations, which were minor, and generally preferred
the thoroughfares as depicted in the Bovay Interim
Report #2. This item was also brought up with the
Mayor and Council.
ACTION: A response memorandum will be forwarded by
either the FPC or City Council within 60 days.
Respectfully submitted,
