MINUTES OF REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING, MARCH 14, 1966
A regular meeting of the Friendswood Planning Commission was held March 14, 1966.
Present were Chairman Tony Banfield; A. J. Block and Dean Saurenman.
Also present were F.dward Stuart, George 0 1 Sullivan, Marge Huss, a.T. Hampton and F.dward Fick.
Mr. Stuart presented a preliminary plat of Merriewood Subdivision. This Commission gave approval pending receipt of a letter from William C.Walsh stating that he and Mr. Wesley Unruh, Utilities Superintendent,have given approval of the Water and Sewer facilities, and that Mr.Walsh has given approval of the streets; upon receipt of alletter fromDrainage District stating their approval of the plan for drainage.
Mr. Stuart is asking a variance on lot dimensions of lots 2 and 7. This Commission recommends that City Council grant this request.
Mr. George O'Sullivan presented a preliminary plat of Imperial Gardens II subdivision. This Commission gave approval pending receipt of a letter from William c. Walsh stating that he and Mr. Unruh, Utilities Superintendent, have given approval of the Water and Sewer facilities, that Mr. Walsh has given approval of the streets; upon receipt of a letter from Drainage District stating their approval of the plan for drainage.
Mr. a. T. Hampton and Mr. Edward Fick presented their plans for 18 unit apartment building, 107 Willowick. After discussion, it was decided that a building permit be issued with the provision that the wall (3' from side line) on City Hall side be constructed according to Houston Fire-Wall requirements.
This Commission has received no building permit requests (for those not under subdivision requirements) for a year. Two particular ones that needed our attention concerning parking facilities are The Lemon Drop and Fred Camp's 4 unit apartment building on Heritage Ave. This Cormnission 1s operating with incomplete and/or inadequate Ordinances.
