A called meeting of the Friendswood Planning Commission was held September 21, 1965; 7:30 P.M. at the City Hall. Present were Chairman Tony Banfield, W.L. Boyle, Dean Saurenmnn; and City Secretary Artha Wright; and Mayor Harry D . Wagner. Final Approval: Lexington S/D was given -by motion of Dean Saurenman, seconded by W.L. Boyle and carried by a unanimous vote. There was discussion of creation of by-laws for this commission. *Meetings -2nd and L1 th Mondays of the month *Yearly report -in joint meeting with Council -l<· Meetings open to the public; special meetings may be called bythe Chairman when considered expedient (i.e. personnel) *Periodic reports to public and council. *If a member misses three (3) consecutive meetings withoutadequate reason, Chairman declares that a vacanc:y exists. *During the 2nd January from the inception of this Commission(January 1966) Dean Saurenman and W.L. Boyle will resign inorder that an order of alternate Rap�ointments may beestablished. (2 one year, 3 next year)The Mayor, with Council approval will appoint those to fillthese vacan�s. *Annual election of the Chairman at the first regular meetingin January of the year. *Quorem -three members*Chairman has voting power*All decisions will be by majority of Commission.--- It is recommended that the Subdivision Code (Ordinance #23) be amended as follows: Item 12 p. 4."Dead end streets and cul-de-sacs shall not be long er than 600' and shall be provided at the closed end with a turn around hav:lng a minimum diameter of 80 1." Motion made by Dean Saurenman, seconded by Wilbert L. Boyle, motion carried unanimously. Activity previously considered by this Commission on Parks and recreational areas will be held in abeyance pending Comprehensive Planning Study.
