MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COM MISSION, MAY 10, 1965
A regular meeting of the Friendswood Planning Commission was held May 10, 1965; 7:30 P.M. at the City Hall.
Present were Wilbert Boyle, Tony Banfield, A.J. Block, Gerald Hollis and Dean Saurenman.
Also present were Harvy Wagner and Keith Smith.
There was general discussion of the functions of the Planning Commission; merits of smaller lot sizes; zoning.
Tony Banfield made a motion that the City Council direct the Planning Commission as to what they want the Planning Commission to do. Motion seconded by A.J. Block and passed unanimously. Subjects that the Planning Commission feels to be of immediate importance are street right-of-ways; drainage and zoning.
Dean Saurenman made a motion that at least two councilmen attend all Planning Commission meetings on a, generally, rotating basis. Motion seconded by Tony Banfield and passed unanimously.
The Planning Commission discussed and voted on reorganization for the coming year. Tony Banfield was elected Chairman and Gerald Hollis was elected Vice-Chairman.
The Planning Commission voted to request that Wesley Unruh prepare a City of Friendswood map that will show all water and sewer lines; their location, elevation or depth,size etc. Motion made by Wilbert Boyle, seconded by Tony Banfield and carried unanimously.
