MINUTES OF THE JOINT MEETING OF 'l'HE PLANNING COMMISSION-CI'.u,Y COUNCIL APRIL 26, 1965.
A Jo1.nt meeting of the Friendswood Planning Commission and City Council was held at the High School Cafeterla, April 26, 1965; 7:30 P.M.
Present were Harr� Wagner, Dale Br.own, Marvin Childers, Arden Hill, Ralph Lowe; W:t.lbert Boyle ., Tony Banfield, Gerald Hollis, Dean Sa.u1"enman; Nox>man Weaver� Keith Smith, Wesley Unruh.

Dale Brown questioned the status of the Road, Street etc. Committee, what authot•ity it has. Harry Wagne1· stated that at the open budget hearing last year, Dale Brown had p:r.esented a map showing the most needed street repair:.and improvements ( topping streets w1·th County cooperation). Dale Brown had been having sand shell and washed shell applied to needed areas at his discretion, that this program is still in affect, that the county will start topping on thia base in May or June. He commended the energy and work that the committee has expended but stated that the Council should should have a cos·t estimate of' material and labor on file at City Hall to be d1scusaed and acted upon.
Dale Brown brought the curve at Shadowbend-Morn1ngside to our attention; that it needs shallowing. Mr. Brautigam (f'or Dr. HoK• Davis)is agreeable to giving some right-or-way to facilitate this project. The approximate cost of this will be $499.00.
Harry Wagner stated that the street Committee should meet and come up with concrete program for Council action. When funds have been alloted for approved programs, the committee may use them at their discretion.
Marvin Childers reminded the Council that this subject was not on the agenda ·for this meeting and no motion concerning it should be enbertained at this time.
Dale Brown made a motion that the subject of the Shadowbend-Morningside curve and the proposed water line to Sunset Drive 1n d1.scuss1on, be tabled; to be put on the agenda of the May 3, 1965 meeting. Motion seconded hv MJ:i'l"U1Yt �h-t1rlo ........ . -"'""�--� -------�--
