MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION, JANUARY 11, 1965
A regular meeting of the Friendswood Planning Commission was held January 11, 1965 at the home of Dean Saurenman; 7:45 P.M.
Present were Wilbert Boyle, Tony Banfield, Gerald Hollis and Dean Saurenman.
Also present was Mrs. Little
There was discussion of the forthcoming Public Hearing on the Zoning Ordinance proposed for the City of Friendswood,
the following recommendations were made: f That the classification "PUBLIC" be allowed to move up the scale on approval of the City Council and that an amendment to this effect be added to the Ordinance on Zoning.
That the final map that becomes a part of the proposed Zoning Ordinance designate in feet, each zone that does not border or end on a lot line or street.
That the COMMERCIAL classification be cut back to 400 1/
The Commission felt that the proposed route through the Clawson property was generally acceptable; that we would like to see an Engineer's drawing on the degree of curve if any.
That the letter from A.W. O'Farrell in reference to reclassification of his property be referred to the Council,
That there be no variance in lot width for Buck Hausman.
That the esplanade type repaving of Leisure Lane be tabled for one year.( recommended by Gerlad Hollis' report)
That the Council again be asked to establish an 80 1 right-of-way for Melody Lane, Sunset Drive and Castlewood.
A.J. Block will start planning for the establishment of street name and House numbering for a proposed ordinance on same.
Tony Banfield reports that progress on the Sunset Drive right-of-way is good.
The recommendation that driveways over the street easement be shell or blacktop rather than concrete shouldl:B reissued, as there are some people that may not be aware of this.
