Benson to build approx. 25 duplexes The on a c-1/R-1 districted lot °n the lot ,FM leaving be located on the R-1 area of , 0-1 district property for future commercial development . The duplexes might be sold to individual owner-landlords. Mr. Benson advised to petition with neighbors for rezoning to R-2, or seek special exception (dubious) from 3oard of Adjustment ' 2 . Application of Mr. Tutton to build a shed for own- equipment on his 0-1 zoned property. The plea was approved . Minutes of a Meeting held August 12, 1971 1.All members agreed the Planning Commission should interest Itself in flood plain management . 2 . All members agreed that the Commission should meet with City Council as soon as possible to. discuss a wider role for the Commission in the area of planning and proposed annexation. The issue of public parks was discussed--placement and numbers, ii;i the context of the Bovay Report . Also the subject of 5 public; swimming pool for FJ!iendswood was advanced, with no oonclus,.ons reached. One idea would be to have such a pool as a public: school facility, with use of the pool by city residents ;fin the summer,., or after school hours . 4 . An action item was assigned to all members to study the ! Bovay Repo-rt in detail, particularly the 1995 use map (p. 22) 5 . Yositio°a on annexation of the Sbhool property: Mr. hoppa and Mir. Ivslson--against annexation until City Charter' in effect , since strip annexation to school at. this time would leave area around school subject to -no control" by the city--undesirable growth, uses possible . If Charter not passed, then for annexation. Mr . Grean and Mr. `malls--for a,nnexat ion. of the' school property at this time to ensure adequate -police protection and city services 6 . The Commission members had no opinion on the proposed annexation of the Van 3ockel tract . Greg Hughes discussed the zoning ordJnance with regard to her usage of a mobile home building on her property which is in a C-1 district . The Planning Commission (Mr . Green absent) met in joint session with the 'Workshop City Council to discuss. any questions they might have on the package of proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance . The, ensuing discussion is a part of the record of the City Couwicil on that meeting. The City Attorney, Mr. Jerden, was rgquested to render a legal critique within the next two weeks; following which public hearings will be scheduled by the Planning Commission on these amendments . At her request , Firs . Barren North is to be provided with a copy of the proposed amendments by the City Secretary, Mrs. Henry .
