MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD WAS HELD ON NOV EMBER 25, 1986 AT CITY r
HALF AT 7 : 00 P.M. WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT:

CHAIRMAN DYKES CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND KENNETH KONCABA
WAS APPOINTED TO BE A REGULAR MEMBER FOR THIS MEETING.
CHAIRMAN DYKES CALLED TO ORDER A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PURPOSE
OF RECEIVING TESTIMONY FROM INTERESTED PERSONS REGARDING THE
REQUEST FROM JIM BADGER, REPRESENTING THE SHEPHERD 'S NOOK THRIFT
SHOP, FROM CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD, 201 NORTH FRIENDSWOOD
DRIVE TO REQUEST A 4 FOOT VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIRED 15 FOOT REAR
SETBACK TO 11 FOOT REAR SETBACK FOR AN ADDITION TO BE USED FOR
STORAGE.
MR. BADGER STATED TO THE BOARD THE SHEPHERD ' S NOOK THRIFT SHOP IS
IN SEVERE NEED OF MORE SPACE TO STORE ALL OF THE MERCHANDISE THAT
IS ACQUIRED FROM VARIOUS PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS . THE BUILDING
WILL BE A 30 X 40 FOOT BLUE AND WHITE METAL BUILDING THAT WILL BE
ATTACHED TO THE NOOK .
CHAIRMAN DYKES CALLED FOR INPUT REGARDING THE REQUEST FROI4 JIM
BADGER, -REPRESENTING THE SHEPHERD ' S NOOK THRIFT SHOP,. FROM THE
CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD, 201 NORTH FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, TO
REQUEST A 4 FOOT VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIRED 15 FOOT REAR SETBACK
TO 11 FOOT REAR SETBACK FOR AN ADDITION TO BE USED FOR STORAGE.
"MAURICE ESTLINBAUM MADE THE MOTION TO GRANT THE VARIANCE.
HAL TAYLOR SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED.
THE MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING OF OCTOBER 28, 1986 WERE
APPROVED AS PRESENTED.
THE SECRETARY LEFT THE MEETING AT THIS TIME. .

CHAIRMAN DYKES DISCUSSED WITH THE MEMBERS THE INFORMATION THAT
HAD BEEN RECEIVED REGARDING SIGN LEGISLATION. THE MEMBERS PRESENT
DISCUSSED IT WITH CHAIRMAN DYKES AND AGREED THAT IT WILL BE
INTENTLY PURSUED AT A LATER DATE WHEN ALL BOARD MEMBERS HAVE THE
INFORMATION.
