Section 8. Supplementary district regulations.
A. Visibility at intersections in residential districts. On a corner lot in any residential
district, vegetation shall not be planted or allowed to grow in such a manner to materially
impede vision between a height of 2V2 feet and ten feet above the centerline grades of the
intersecting streets in the area bounded by the street lines on such corner lots and a line
joining points along said street lines 25 feet from the point of the intersection.

C. Accessory buildings. Except as specifically permitted by this ordinance, no accessory
building shall be erected in any required yard, and no separate accessory building shall be
erected within five feet of any other buildings.

D. Erection of more than one principal structure on a lot. In any district, more than one
structure housing a permitted or permissible principal use may be erected on a single lot,
provided that yard, street frontage, and other requirements of this ordinance shall be met for
each structure as though it were on an individual lot.

E. Structures to have access:'Every building hereafter erected shall be on a lot adjacent to
a public street, or an approved private street, and all structures shall be so located on lots as
to provide safe and convenient access for servicing, fire protection, and required offstreet
parking.
F. Of(street parking and loading regulations.
1. Off street parking regulations. It is the intent of this section to assure that adequate
offstreet parking is provided with the construction, alteration, remodeling or change
of use of any building or change itl the use of land.
a. Required offstreet parking spaces shall be located on the same lot, tract, parcel,
or premises as the use being served or on other property of the same or less `
restrictive zoning classification that the owner of the premises being served has
a continuing right to use for parking.When the required offstreet parking spaces
are not located on the same lot, tract, parcel, or premises being served, the
distance from the center of the parking lot to an entrance to the building or use
shall not exceed 500 feet in distance, measured along the shortest available
pedestrian route with public access-
..-b. Any existing building or use that is enlarged, structurally altered, or remodeled
to the extent of increasing or changing the use by more than 50 percent as it
existed at the effective date of this ordinance shall be accompanied by offstreet `
parking for the entire building or use in accordance with the offstreet parking
regulations set forth in this section.When the enlargement,structural alteration,

Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the City
of Friendswood which was held at City Hall on May 25, 1999 at 7:00 P M with
the following members present constituting a quorum: /

Regular Member Ron Decker
Regular Member David O'Brien
Regular Member Gary Yokum
Regular Member Ann Talbot
Alternate Member Thomas Rives
Z.B.O.A. Secretary Linda Thornton
Alternate Members Tracy Goza, Marsha Standridge and Gary Harris were absent
from this meeting.

Alternate member Tommy Rives arrived at 7:10 p.m. for this meeting. €
Chairman Hal Taylor called the meeting to order at 7:00 .m. .

Chairman Taylor, called the hearing to order to receive public input
regarding Greg Curnett's request for a variance for property located at 410
Fallow, Lot 5, Block 1, of corrected Plat of the Orchard Subdivision,
Galveston County, Texas, for installing accessory structure (swimming pool)
2 ' from residence; not 5' required by City of Friendswood Code, Appendix
C-Zoning, Section B.C.
Discussion followed with Greg Curnett explaining his request.
Hearing no further input the Public Hearing was closed. {
* Ron Decker made a motion to table the variance at 410 Fallow, Lot 5,
Block 1, Orchard Subdivision until Mr. and Mrs. Curnett return to Zoning
Board of Adjustment.
Seconded by David O'Brien.
Motion unanimously. F

meeting.
Seconded by Gary Yokum.
Motion approved unanimously.
Discussion followed with Chairman Hal Taylor polling board members if they
would like the City Attorney to give a presentation on Ordinance
interpretation and discussion of powers and duties of the Zoning Board of
Adjustment.
Motion was made and approved to adjourn at 7:55 p.m. .
