Building Department.
I will notify the Sign Inspector within five (5) business days
after the sign is completed to schedule a Final Inspection.
I have received the City of Friendswood Requirements for Sign I
Permit handout and have read such and understand all requirements.
If the business relocates/closes, or if the sign is no longer
applicable to the property involved, I will have the sign removed
or rendered blank.

sets of plans and to-scale drawings which include the following
information:
For ALL signs
1. Location of existing or proposed signs on property.
2. Location of electrical transmission lines on
property.
3. Is this a shopping center or office building?

1. Dimensions of sign.
2. Dimensions of sign's supporting members.
3. Dimensions of wall surface of building to which sign
is attached.
4. Location of sign on wall indicating lineal footage of
building frontage.

For GROUND (Freestanding) signs
1. Dimensions of sign.
2. Dimensions of sign's supporting members.
3. Maximum and minimum height of sign.
4. Location of sign in relation to property lines of lot.
5. Electrical wiring for sign.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment
from August 28, 1990 to
September 4, 1990
Minutes of the Recessed Meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment
of the City of Friendswood which was held at City Hall on
September 4, 1990 with the following members constituting a
quorum:
Chairman William H. Taylor
Vice-Chairman Dr. Tom Sullivan
Regular Member Mary Ellen Bellard
Regular Member David O'Brien, III
Regular Member Ann Talbot
Building Inspector Nick Capuano
Assistant to City Secretary Jane Tollett
Chairman Taylor called, the meeting to order and noted all regular
member of the -Board. of. Adjustment were present..
Chairman Taylor noted Kentucky Fried Chicken and FEMA Appeals
Board Applicant on the agenda for tonights meeting have been
deleted.
? Chairman Taylor called for public input regarding request from
Mr.& Mrs. Faris Tabor for a five feet side setback to build
addition to apartment of garage at location of 309 Carey Lane,
Lori Woods Subdivision.
Mr.& Mrs. Tabor presented building plans. to the board and stated
the addition is a room above. existing garage and is not an
apartment. They stated they are requesting a ten foot side
setback because of ordinances today and the *existing garage was
built prior to ten foot setback rule. Discussion followed at
length between Mr. and Mrs. Tabor and the Board of Adjustment•.
Chairman Taylor called for public input regarding request from
James Coursey for special exception from height requirement of
allowable thirty-five feet at location of 502 Richmond , Heritage
Estates Subdivision.
James Coursey stated he is building a home and the question to be
considered is the chimney considered a portion of the structure
being built and he is requesting a special exception because of
the 35 foot height requirement. Discussion followed at length
between Mr. Coursey and the Board of Adjustment.
Chairman Taylor called for public input regarding request from
Antonio and Diane Nicolas for variance of eight feet rear setback
to build home at location of 5479 Appleblossom, Wedgewood Village
Subdivision.

Mr. and Mrs. Nicolas stated the new home is being built on a
uniquely shaped lot and presented a plat of lot and structure.
They said in order to get as much home' on the lot as , possible
an eight foot rear setback' is required. Discussion followed at
length between Mr.' and Mrs. Nicolas and the .Board of Adjustment.
At this time the public hearing was closed.
**Ann Talbot made the motion to grant the variance at location of
309 Carey Lane, Lori Woods Subdivision to building addition to
apartment of garage.
Dr. Tom Sullivan seconded the motion. The motion was unanimous..
**Dr. Tom Sullivan made the motion to grant the variance at
location of 502 Richmond , 'Heritage Estates Subdivision, . for
a special exception from height requirement.
Mary Ellen Bellard seconded the motion. The motion was.
unanimous.
**Dr. Tom Sullivan made the motion to ' grant the variance at _
location of 5479 Appleblossom of five feet side setback to
. building home.
- Ann Talbot seconded . the motion. The motion was unanimous.
Motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 8 : 00 pm.
