The meeting was called to order at 7:02pm with the following people in attendance: Vice Chairman Mark McLean Commissioner Jim Nye Commissioner David O’Farrell Commissioner Hassan Moghaddam Commissioner Mark Tibbitts City Attorney Bobby Gervais Mona Miller, Planner Morad Kabiri, Director of CDD Frank Manigold, Dep. Director of CDD Aubrey Harbin, Development Specialist 2. Communication from the public/committee liaisons (To comply with provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Commission may not deliberate on subjects discussed under this agenda item. However, the Commission may direct such subjects be placed on a later regular Commission agenda for discussion and/or possible action.) None 3. Discussion regarding projected population calculations and zoning Miller explained a handout that was provided to the Commissioners with calculations regarding population as it relates to SFR and SFR-E zoning and vacant land yet to be developed within the City. There was discussion regarding the City’s population and that when and if it reaches 50,000 is based on the economy. McLean asked staff for these same calculations, but with increased lot sizes. The Commissioners asked that staff present the revised Future Land Use Map at the June 16 meeting. The revised map will remove properties under 2 acres and other lots that would not meet the SFR-E minimum requirements. 4. Discussion regarding platting and zoning MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING HELD THURSDAY, JUNE 2, 2011 AT 7PM CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS 910 S. FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS 2 Miller reviewed handouts regarding the basics of platting and zoning that staff received at the Land Use Conference held in Austin. 5. Consideration and possible action regarding future Planning and Zoning Commission meeting dates Miller informed the Commission that the next regular meeting will be Thursday, June 16, at 7pm. 6. Communications from the Commission None 7. Reports A. Council Liaison – Councilman Hill stated that City Council had a special meeting last Thursday to set priorities and that he is optimistic in working with the new Council. B. Staff - None 8.
