HomeMy WebLinkAboutZBOA DECISION 04/19/1977 CY OF FRIENDSWOOD 109 Willowick Avenue FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS 77546 482 .3323 MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT April 19, 1977 Members Present Members Absent Bruce Foster Hal Taylor Bernice Box George Rummel Ray Nelson Ed Dykes Andy Knight Harold Witaker i The meeting was called to order by Buce Foster at 7 :45 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to hear cause to grant a backyard setback. Board members and Mr . & Mrs. David L. Henderson; were the only ones present . A aft . side setback and 6ft .back setback in the backyard was needed for the Hendersons to build a new two car garage . The Eft . allowance from the property line is a utility easement . Reasons for the new garage being built; present garage not big enough for modern day size of cars, .no room for laundry and hobby equipment, need space for den so the family can spend leasure time together, size of family has grown since purchase of the home. New building will enhance the appearance of the home and neighborhood, does not block entry to house or neighbor' s house for fire protection. The problem is not caused by the applicant, the request is being made before construction starts. Small size of lot, inflation, and growing family needs, are the reasons for expanding inside present living floorspace. Garage is being built . at angle for better access of cars in and out of the back yard. The building will not sit in the Eft . easement only up to it, still allowing room for the Utility Co. Ray Nelson made a motion to grant the variance for. reasons given, and Mr . Knight stipulated that the water runoff is down the driveway and not off the roof of the garage on to the neighbor' s yard. Mr . Witaker second motion and a vote was called for : All 5 present at meeting voted ' yes' . The motion carried. Motion to adjorn, seconded, meeting adjourned.
