Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 6:32pm. 2. Discussion/Approval of October 24, 2017 minutes: Patty made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, Jeff second and the motion was approved unanimously. 3. Communication Reports (oral and written)-Tyler presented his Eagle Scout project presentation; he said he’ll need help. Encourage him to participate at Santa in the Park and Tree Giveaway to fundraise for his project. A. Volunteer Hours: Sherry asked board to turn in volunteer hours. B. Committee Reports (Oral and Written) **Executive Committee: Harvey Recovery, change matching grant for a one- time event. **Keep Texas Beautiful-Susan Stephens **Public Awareness-Natasha McAdoo: Natasha updated the board on our Facebook statistics. Followers, 128 within a month and 4,000 people have looked at the page. We got a lot of people doing a lot of volunteer’s hours handing out the downtown decoration contest information. Katy will send out info soon. **Education-Patty Steinke Sherry, Martha and Patty did a presentation for a daisy troop at HEB. Patty and Kaye saw a speaker a couple weeks ago about birds; we thought it would be a great spring time speaker with the lady from the Audubon group and the gentlemen from wild birds unlimited for the spring. **Beautification-Kaye Corey: Kaye contacted the Watersmart ladies and the project is now on the backburner. Kaye contacted Kathy on all of the signs around the city and she said they were on it. We would like to have the construction site by Lary’s Florist cleaned up before Santa in the Park. Kaye stated that the trees at San Joaquin were seen by the Texas forestry service the information they gave her was wrong. **Parks-Tom Goodwin: James stated the arena will be closed at Old City park due to the group that uses it has disbanded it so we went back to the drawing board and changed the layout for the parking now there will not be parking at Merriwood, there will be one large parking lot in the middle of Old City Park. With the savings were hoping we’ll bring in a new restroom building and a new covered pavilion. We should be going out to bid in January or February. **Environmental Action-Paul Marx C. Median Maintenance: FM2351, the maintenance repair has been completed. They trimmed, filled in ruts and added mulch. FM518, TXDOT has agreed that they will take care of it but we’re still waiting. They will replace all the dead plants. Kaye asked what we are going to do about the Mulley grass, James said we had many complaints from drivers on not being able to see. D. Keep Friendswood Beautiful **Fall Haul Update: Sherry stated she thought it was a success; we had 473 cars, and brought in $773. **Stevenson Solar Lights Update: We finally received all the lights and will be installed soon. **Liberty Tree: See Communications from the public **Tree Giveaway: Todd has ordered the trees, white oak, nuttall oak and Chinese fringe. **Santa in the Park Layout Schedules Volunteers Other Kimberly informed the board of the event schedule and passed around a signup sheet for the event. 4. New Business: Sherry stated we have a spring party at Todd’s house. The animal control sign needs landscaping. 5.
