He will follow up with them soon. We can print out of the medians and draw on them to make a notation on what kind of plants to put in the medians along with the irrigation. He's hoping he can get it done the first of next week. James also informed the board that TXDOT will not allow us to put the electronic reader board sign on FM2351 but the city can install the sign on the Blackhawk median. Todd asked if there are any other options, James stated no. Board suggested putting the sign at 1776 or near Frankie Carter Park. Kaye sent a message requesting to put "Welcome to Friendswood" on the water tower on FM528 coming in from Alvin. She also asked if there are any plans on installing an entrance sign coming in from League City. James stated as of right now, no. Do we have money in our budget to mulch FM518 and add color to the medians and remove the hawthorns? Todd recommended planting something that is going to look good in the winter as in the summer. He's not recommending yellow bells. Abelia, it’s a shrub that stays small and will need to stay on the outside of the roses. James stated that the only thing that is planned this year is the mulch. The area where we're lacking is education. One of the things she did notice is that Cleburne and Coppers Cove organizations are attached to Fort Hood, who has the largest recycling center in the US thru the Army. **Continuing Education Workshops: Susan Delcambre is doing a great job with her workshop at FISD Continuing Education; Susan Stephens has taken pictures of her class. **Banners for Renwick Park/Pictures of Banners: James talked to Little League and he doesn’t think the pictures will be a good idea because of the rules Little League has with child privacy. The board agreed. **Affiliate Signs: Waiting on TXDOT for approval. **Border Stones in front of City Hall: Kaye Corey sent a message asked about landscaping stones in front of city hall? Paul met with Mr. Husain, who is building the new medical center on Friendswood Dr. Paul stated that he only had 2 lights installed along the sidewalk; he said it’s going to look really nice when it’s complete. He stated that he would like to see some consistency with the New Gulf Bank. The current ordinance is limited and doesn’t specify the types of plants you could landscape with.
