THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD MET IN A SPECIAL MEETING ON
WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2022, IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, FRIENDSWOOD CITY HALL,
LOCATED. AT 910 S. FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, WITH THE
FOLLOWING MEMBERS PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM:

1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Foreman called the meeting to order with a quorum present at 5:30 P.M.;all members were present.
2. INVOCATION
The invocation was led by Minister Matt Parker with First Baptist Church of Friendswood.
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE—United States and State of Texas .
Mayor Foreman led the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance for both the United States and the State of
Texas.
4. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Foreman stated that there were no speakers and moved onto the next item.
5. ELECTION CANVASS
A. Canvass the returns of the City of Friendswood General and Special Elections held on May 7,
2022.
City Secretary Lettie Brysch presented the tabulation results to the City Council from the May 7, 2022,
General Election and Special Election. Mayor Foreman read out the tabulated results as follows:

Mayor Foreman delivered the election return tally lists, early voting and election day results along with
all supporting documentation to the City Secretary,the custodian of election records, who shall preserve
them for the required retention period. At 5:37 P.M.,Mayor Foreman concluded the canvass of the City's
May 7,2022, General Election and Special Election.
B. Consider an ordinance declaring the results of the City of Friendswood General and Special
Elections held on May 7,2022.
A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Griffon and seconded by Councilmember Erenwert to approve
Ordinance No. 2022-05, regarding Agenda Item 5.B. The vote was the following:
Ayes: Mayor Mike Foreman, Councilmember Trish Hanks, Councilmember Steve
Rockey, Councilmember Sally Branson,Mayor Pro Tem.Robert J. Griffon,
Councilmember John Scott, and Councilmember Brent Erenwert.
Nays: None
The item passed unanimously.
ORDINANCE NO. 2022-13
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD
MAY 7, 2022, CONCERNING THE ELECTION OF COUNCILMEMBERS FOR
POSITION NUMBERS FOUR(4) AND SIX (6) OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD;
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD MAY 2, 2022,
CONCERNING ELEVEN (11) PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF
THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE.

6. SWEARINGIN CEREMONY
A. Administer the oaths of office to Robert J.Griffon,Councilmember Position No.Four and Brent
Erenwert,Councilmember Position No. Six.
Mayor Foreman presented the certificate of election,and Associate Judge Robert J.Barfield administered
the oath of office and statement of elected official for Mayor Pro Tem Robert J. Griffon.
Mayor Foreman presented the certificate of election,and Associate Judge Robert J.Barfield administered
the oath office and statement of elected official for Councilmember Brent Erenwert.
Mayor Foreman congratulated Mayor Pro Tem Griffon and Councilmember Erenwert and welcomed all
those present to partake of the incoming council reception after the meeting.
7. ADJOURNMENT
With there being no further business to discuss,Mayor Foreman adjourned the May 18,2022,City Council
Special Meeting at 5:43 P.M.
