Meeting Minutes
October 3, 2018
The Friendswood Community and Economic Development Committee met on Wednesday, October
3, 2018 at 3:30 pm., in the second floor conference room of Friendswood City Hall, 910 South
Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas, with the following members present: Chair Skip Evans,
Vice Chair Meg Crowley, Blaise Guzzetta, Pauline Moore, and Jennifer Whitley.
Staff member present was Karen Capps.
Absent were Mike Hickey and Gary Kay.
1. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order by Chair Skip Evans at 3:42 p.m.
2. Roll call. Roll call was made with a quorum present.
CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION
At 3:45 p.m., the committee convened into closed executive session to review an application for
economic development incentives.
RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION
At 4:10 p.m. the committee reconvened into open session.
3. Approval of Minutes
Meg Crowley made a motion to approve the September 5, 2018 meeting minutes. Blaise Guzzetta
seconded, all in favor, motion carried unanimously.
4. Discussion and possible action regarding:
-Friendswood cares business visits
The committee reported on several business visits that were conducted during the past month.
5. Staff report/comments
Karen Capps reported on new residential and commercial plans that were recently approved or
underway. An update on grants was given.
6. Member comments
Meg Crowley reported that the Drinks, Drafts, and Downtowners event will be held at Jado'z Grill
House this Thursday.
7. Liaison reports
None
8. Adjournment
Commercial Broker/Developer Day event on Thursday, October 25 at 10 a.m. Next meeting on
November 7 at 3:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
