A. Breakfast
The breakfast for city council members will be inside City Hall. The dignitaries will be
downstairs, and the committee will eat upstairs for the breakfast. The Parks staff will be
having Whataburger separate from the dignitary breakfast. There will be eight tables
downstairs, and Barbara will decorate the spaces the night before.
B. Parade
The 2021 parade will take place on Monday, July 5. The parade will be held at full
capacity, and there will be bussing to and from the parade route for dignitaries.
Currently, there are 6 parade entries and 7 judges locked down. Kimberly has also
made contact with the grand marshal. All signage and flyers will encourage masks and
social distancing.
C. Day Program
We are following the same procedures for the day program. There are 23 vendors
signed up so far.
D. Evening Program
A quote is being obtained for 25,000 fireworks; an extra 5,000 is being tacked onto the
latter half of the show for a grand finale. There will be no amusement rides at the
evening program this year.
Both the flyover and skydiving teams have been secured. The staff and committee
members will be wearing white polo's. FISD is providing 24 bus drivers for the night —
they will be receiving the t- shirts with Katy's approved design. Sanitation procedures
will take place in the busses. Additionally, there will be sanitizer stations adjacent to
the food court and restroom areas. There will be a restroom building in the VIP section
for the band, staff, and committee members. The First Baptist Church of Friendswood
will be singing the national anthem in front of the stage at the opening of the evening
program.
