Cail to Order MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD FOURTH OF JULY STEERING COMMITTEE THAT WAS HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 241 2021, AT THE LEAVLOLL Y PARK HANGAR, 901 BUCKINGHAM DR, FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM: COMMITTEE MEMBER KATHY MOLINARO COMMITTEE MEMBER LARRY SIMS COMMITTEE MEMBER NANCY SIMS COMMITTEE MEMBER RENAE RIVES COMMITTEE MEMBER TERRY MCKEE VICE CHAIR BARBARA BLANCHARD COMMITTEE MEMBER TONY SCARPA COMMITTEE MEMBER CHRIS SCARPA PARADE CHAIR STACY SCARPA DAY CHAIR MICHELLE SCARPA COMMITTEE MEMBER STEFANIE KARACOSTAS EVENING CHAIR RUFINO RAMIREZ CHAIR TOMMY MCDONALD, COMMITTEE MEMBER DARRELL FALES, COMMITTEE MEMBER TERRI CORBETT WAS ABSENT FROM THE MEETING. The meeting was called to order at 6:03PM. 2. Communications from the Public Darla from FISD Transportation is in attendance. She recounts the transportation logistics from the 2019 4th of July celebration to the committee. For the 2021 celebration, 21 busses will be needed. Sanitization protocols are discussed among the committee and Darla. Masks for bus riders will be provided and required. The busses will be picking up from the Friendswood United Methodist Church and Friendswood High School parking lots with special needs busses picking up at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 3. Approval of Minutes A. January 27, 2021 A motion to approve the minutes was made by Kathy, seconded by Larry, and approved unanimously. 4. Discussion and Possible Actions A. Breakfast The breakfast will be outdoors and consist of eight tables underneath tents. B. Parade The parade will be held at traditional capacity this year (with bikers and walkers). The committee and staff members driving will be required to wear masks. The parade application will go live on April 1. C. Day Program There will be a day program this year on Monday, July 5; the booth vendors will be scattered throughout Stevenson Park. City staff will be reaching out to vendors to acquire non -inflatable attractions, and the Chamber's truck will be in the park for the duration of the event. Terry will be in charge of the music. The day program will be cancelled if the park gets rained out. D. Evening Program The evening program will be an extension of the day program with food vendors at Centennial Park - no amusement rides - on Sunday, July 4. The front gate of the park will close at 6PM. The evening entertainment will be provided by the Spazmatics. Both the flyover and REMAX skydiving team have been confirmed. The Chamber's raffle truck will be brought in during the latter half of the evening program - raffle winner will be announced Monday afternoon at the day program. 5. Adjournment A motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:44PM was made by Kathy, seconded by Nancy, and approved unanimously.
