R2021-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, DEDICATING THE USE OF REAL PROPERTY AS MUNICIPAL PARK LAND AND DECLARING ITS ACCEPTANCE AND INCLUSION INTO STEVENSON PARK AND REPEALING ALL OTHER RESOLUTIONS INCONSISTENT OR IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. X X 71C X iC X X 7�C X ]C WHEREAS, by virtue of that certain deed dated October 4, 1973, and recorded by Instrument Number 98183, Book 2417, Pages 178 through 181, of the Deed Records of Galveston County, Texas, the City of Friendswood, Texas (the "City") acquired an approximately 10.6941 acre parcel of land from the Estate of Earl V. Stevenson, to be used as a public park, which park is located at the intersection of South Friendswood Drive and Shadwell Lane and known as "Stevenson Park"; and WHEREAS, subsequent dedications have been made over the years adding additional acreage to Stevenson Park; and WHEREAS, the City is the owner and holder of certain properties located at 4 Emerald Circle, 222 Shadwell Lane and 301 West Castlewood; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to expand the boundaries of Stevenson Park to accept these properties as additional acreage to be included into Stevenson Park and to dedicate the same to municipal park use. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Friendswood, Texas, hereby declares that 4 Emerald Circle, being .731 acres known as Part of Lot 16, Block 5, Friendswood Subdivision, a subdivision in Galveston County, Texas, according to the map of record in Volume 7, Page 20 of the Map Records of Galveston County, Texas, this tract having a 30ft wide road easement along the Northeast line containing .114 acres shall be and it is hereby accepted as additional acreage to be included into Stevenson Park and that the same is dedicated to municipal park use. Metes and bounds description of this property is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof for all purposes. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Friendswood, Texas, hereby declares that 222 Shadwell Lane, being 5.18 acres know as Part of Lots Twelve (12) and Thirteen (13), in Block Five (5), of Friendswood Subdivision, a subdivision in Galveston County, Texas, according to the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 238, Page 14 and transferred to Plat Record 7, Map No. 20 in the Office of the County Clerk of Galveston County, Texas, shall be and it is hereby accepted as additional acreage to be included into Stevenson Park and that the same is dedicated to municipal park use. Metes and bounds description of this property is attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and made a part hereof for all purposes. Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Friendswood, Texas, hereby declares that 301 West Castlewood, being 2.563 acres know as all that certain tract or parcel of land out of Lots Nine (9) and Ten (10) in Block Three (3) in Friendswood, a subdivision in the Sarah McKissick or J.R. Williams League in Galveston County, Texas, according to the map or plat of said subdivision of record in Volume 238, Page 14 in the Office of the County Clerk of Galveston County, Texas, shall be and it is hereby accepted as additional acreage to be included into Stevenson Park and that the same is dedicated to municipal park use. Metes and bounds of this property is attached hereto as Exhibit "C" and made a part hereof for all purposes.. Section 4. Upon passage of this Resolution, the City Manager shall direct that any and all necessary actions be taken in order to re -define the boundaries of Stevenson Park so as to reflect the inclusion of the properties located at 4 Emerald Circle, 222 Shadwell Lane and 301 West Castlewood as described herein. Section All resolutions or parts of resolutions inconsistent or in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict, hereby repealed. E. 495.00 ft. along the Southwest line of said Lot 16 to a 1/2 inch iron rod for the place of beginning of a 0.731 acre tract hereinafter described; THENCE S 43 deg. 35 min.
