A RESOLUTYON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY QF
FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, ESTABI,ISHING MAXIMUM FEES WHICH MAY
BE CHARGEb BY WRECKER COMPANIES OPERATING WITHIN THE
CITY; AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF
RE50LUTIDNS INCONSISTENT OR IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.

WHEREP,S, the City Council of the City of Friendswoodr Texas,
has determined that the services vf private towing companiea are
required ta assist in maintaining the safe and orderly flow of
traffic; and
wHEREAS, the city has established a system for enabling its
agents to use private towing companies to clear the streets of
vehicles after ztccidents; and
WHEREAS, by City ordinance perrnitted wrecker operators are
prohibited from charginq fees in excess of those established by
resolution of the City Council; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
TEXAS:
Sect�on 1. The following schedule of maximum �ees which may
be charged by wrecker operators for wrecker services within the
City be, and they are hereby, adopted:
A. For basic towing service from an incident scene within
the City, an amount not to exceed sixty dollars ($b0.00) ;
provided, however, if the destination of a tow exceeds
fiPteen {15) miles from the incider,t scene, the operator

shall be allowed to charge an additional fee not to
exceed ane dollar ($1.00} for each mile towed in excess
of fifteen (15) miles;
B. For removal and replacernent o€ a tire and wheel asaembly
required to tow a vehicle� an amount not to exceed ten
dollars ($10. 00) ;
C. For the righting of an overturned vehicle on level
ground, an amount not to exceed twenty dollars ($20.00) ;
D. For the glacement of a vehicle on a dolly or dollies in
order to tow the vehicle, an amount not to exceed
seventy-five dollars ($75.00) ;
E. For the towing of a motorcycle, an amount not to exceed
seventy-five dollars ($75.�o? ;
G. For up to two (2) hours work on specialized recoveries of
vehicles that are submerqed, or in difficult terrain, or
in other abnormal locations, an amount not to exceed one
hundred ten dollars ($110.00} ; provided, however, if any
such specialized recovery takes more than two (2) hours,
an amaunt not to exceed fifty-five dallars ($55.00) per
hour; and
G. For the storage, preservation, and any required
notifications to be given by the permitted wrecker
operator, an amaunt not to exceed those established from
time to tima by the Texas Department of Licensing and
Regulation under the provisions of the Texas vehicle
Storage Facility Act, Articles 6687-9a and 9100, Texas
Revised Civil Statutes, as amended.

Section 2. All resolutions or parts of resolutions
inconsistent or in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such
inconsistency or conflict, hareby rapealed.
Section 3. This Resolutfon shall take effect and be in force
from and after the date of adaption hereof.
