A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, HEREINAFTER
REFERRED TO AS "APPLICANT", DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING
RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE "APPLICANT" IN
DEALING WITH THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANTS PROGRAM, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS
THE "PROGRAM", CERTIFYING THAT THE "APPLICANT" HAS BEEN AWARDED
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,459 AND A MATCHING SHARE IN THE AMOUNT
OF $1,162 IS READI�Y AVAILABLE; AND DEDICATING THE MONIES TO THE
PURCHASE OF SPECIALIZED INVESTIGATIVE EQUIPMENT USING APPROVED
LOCAL PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES.

WHEREAS, the Bureau of Justice Assistance has approved the "Program" for the purpose of
allowing the political subdivisions of the State of Texas to participate in the "Program"; and
WHEREAS, the "Applicant" is fully eligible and has accepted to receive assistance under the
"Program"; and
WHEREAS, the "Applicant" is desirous of authorizing a program manager to represent and act for
the "Applicant" in dealing with the "Department" concerning the "Program";
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE "APPLICANT":
SECTION 1: That the "Applicant" hereby certifies that they are eligible and have accepted to
receive assistance under the "Program".
SECTION 2: That the "Applicant" hereby certifies that the matching share for this application is
readily available at this time.
SECTION 3: That the "Applicant" hereby authorizes and directs the police chief as program
manager to represent and act for the "Applicant" in dealing with the "Department".
SECTION 4: The "Applicant" hereby specifically authorizes and dedicates the program funds for the
purchase of specialized investigative equipment using local procurement procedures.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND RESOLVED BY THE AFFIRMATION VOTE OF THE "APPLICANT"
ON THIS 17T" DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1997.
