R99-22 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, ADOPTING RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL SERVICES RELATING TO THE COLLECTION, TRANSPORTATION AND DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT. * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Friendswood has found and determined that the collection, transportation and disposal of solid waste is necessary to preserve and protect the public health of the citizens of the City of Friendswood; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Friendswood has entered into an agreement with Waste Management of Texas to provide for such services which includes the collection of various recyclables; and WHEREAS, based upon the City's negotiations and agreement with Waste Management, the City hereby adopts the following residential and commercial fees for the collection of solid waste. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS: FEES FOR COLLECTION OF SOLID WASTE 1. Residential services to include collection of residential refuse, recyclables and Green Waste: No limit volume per week per residence, including $10.09/month residential refuse, residential curbside recycling and Green Waste recycling. 2. Light commercial collection: For twice a week pickup with curb service (maximum) $33.68/month of seven 32-gallon containers) 3. Commercial (month fee): a. Two-cubic yard containers 1 pickup per week $59.81 2 pickups per week $70.25 b. Four-cubic yard container: 1 pickup per week $68.50 2 pickups per week $89.36 c. Six-cubic yard container: 1 pickup per week $77.14 2 pickups per week $138.75 3 pickups per week $201.09 4 pickups per week $268.09 5 pickups per week $335.14 6 pickups per week $402.10 d. Eight-cubic yard container: 1 pickup per week $136.97 2 pickups per week $210.20 3 pickups per week $268.14 4 pickups per week $357.44 5 pickups per week $456.97 6 pickups per week $548.93 e. Fee for a commercial unit using a roll-off container: Delivery fee (one-time charge) $76.80 Rental fee for permanent use, per month $102.40 Rental fee for temporary use, per day $6.14 f. Roll-off container (per pickup): Type I landfill: 20 cubic yards $234.21 30 cubic yards $260.23 40 cubic yards $286.25 Type IV landfill: 20 cubic yards $213.73 30 cubic yards $229.51 40 cubic yards $245.29 g. Fee for compacted trash: Front-load compacted trash per cubic yard $7.17 20 cubic-yard compactor roll-off per pickup $243.64 28 cubic-yard compactor roll-off per pickup $285.01 40 cubic-yard compactor roll-off per pickup $292.75 4. Disaster Relief Services - Special Collection and Disposal: In the event of damage or destruction resulting from flood, tornado, hurricane or similar disaster situations, Contractor agrees to provide adequate personnel and equipment to assist the City in clean-up recovery. Available services include, but are not limited to the following. a. Roll-off containers: All available sizes (20,30 and 40-cubic yard) at contract price listed above. Any discounts due to disposal consideration will be passed on to the City. b. Specialized brush trucks (Grapple and Containers): Truck and 1 operator $65.00/hour Truck and 2 person crew $85.00/hour Truck and 3 person crew $105.00/hour c. Portable toilets: Contractor's prevailing price less 15% d. Brush grinder: Set-up and transportation $350.00 Grinder and operator, with City providing dozer/loader to push material up to area to be grappic loaded $195.00/hour Grinder, operator and dozer/loader to move material $270.00/hour PASSED, APPROVED, AND RESOLVED THIS 2 6 trDAY OF July , �, 1999.
