HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 93-15 ORDINAI+[CE NO. 9 3-15 AN ORDINANCE A�IF�IDING TH� �'RIEriDSWOOD CITY CODE BY 5TRIKING THEREFROM ALL O� SUBSECTION A OF SECTZON S-6 OF ARTICI�& I OF CHAFTER 8 AND SUBSTITTJTING THEREFOR A NEW 5UBSECTION A; PROVIDING RATES F'OR THE COLLECTION AND DISPCISAL OF GARBAGE, TRASH, Atr'D REFUSE WTTHIN THE CITY; MAKING OTIiER FINDINGS AN'J FROVI SIONS RELATED TO T�sE SUHJEG'F; ArJD PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. ,� �t # � � WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Friendswood, Texas� finds and dete.rmines that the proper collection and disposal oP municipal trash and garbage generated within the city limits of the City of Friendswood is neGessary to prevent public nuisances and to protect the health, safety, ar,c3 welfare of �che citi2ens of Frisndsw�ood; and i�7HEREAS, the City Council of tbe Ci�y of Fra,endswaod, Texa�, finds and determines that �o assure proper collection and disposal of municipal trash arad garba�ge sufficient rev�nues must be collected as service fees to defray the cost of such trash and qarbage collection and disposal; and WHEREP.S, the City C�uncil of the City of Friendswood, Texas, �'inds and determines that a rate increase for garbage serviae is presently neces�ary to colleat sufficient revenues to defray the cast of such service; now therefore BE IT �RDAINED $Y THE CITY COUNGIL OF THE CITY �F �RZ�NDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS: Section 1. The Friendswood City .ode is hereby amended by striking therefrom all mf Subsect�.on �, af Sectir�n 8-6 of Article I of Chapter 8, which provides as folyows: F W D�GAA9 i(R E4.Oi1D1100609 , (Sec. 8-6. Service cha�ges - �chedule. �. The f ee �or garbaqe and trash pickup s�rvice shall be billed to the person receiving such s�rvice, wit2r �he City billing for such ser��ice to residantial properties, and the City�s qarbage contractar billing for such servio� to nan- residential properties.
