ORDINANCE N0. 92-9
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION REGARDING THE ZONING CHANGE REQUEST FOR
PROPERTY BEING A TRACT OF LAND, 3• 1 ACRES OF LAND (CSC)
AND 8 .9 ACRES OF LAND (SFR) LOCATED IN THE 2500 BLOCK OF
FM 528 & COUNTRY CLUB ROAD, BEING A PART OF THE MARY
SLOAN SURVEY, ABSTRACT 184 , GALVESTON COUNTY , TEXAS; FROM
COMMUNITY SHOPPING CENTER AND SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
TO MULTIPLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DWELLING; AMENDING THE
ZONING DISTRICT MAP OF THE CITY AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE
N0. 84-15 ; AND CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE
SUBJECT.

WHEREAS, record owner, The Lowe Family 198$ Trust has �
requested rezoning for a certain tract of land known as 3. 1
Acres (CSC) AND 8 .9 Acres (SFR) being a part of the Mary Sloan
Survey, Abstract 184 in Galveston County, Texas , located in the
2500 block of FM 528, situated within the corporate limits of
the City of Friendswood , Texas , said tract being more
particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a
part hereof; and
WHEREAS; said traet of land known as 3. 1 acres and 8. 9
acres located in the 2500 block off FM 528 , presently has a
zoning classification of COMMUNITY SHOPPING CENER AND SINGLE
FAMILY RESIDENCE, respeetively, pursuant to Ordinance No. 84-15,
passed and approved the 19th day of November, 1984, same being
the City of Friendswood Zoning Ordinanee; and
WHEREAS, Record Owner for said property, has made
application to the City of Friendswood to ehange the zoning
classification of said tract of land to MULTIPLE FAMILY
RESIDENTIAL DWELLING (MFR-M) , as authorized by the City' s Zoning
Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City
Couneil of the City of Friendswood have conducted , in the time
and manner and after the notice required by law and the Zoning
Ordinance of the City, a public hearing on sueh request for
change in zoning classification; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended
and the City Council now deems it appropriate to APPROVE such
requested ehange in classiFication; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
STATE OF TEXAS:

Seetion 1� The facts and matters set forth in the preamble
of this Ordinance are hereby found to be true and correet.
Section 2. The zoning classification of that certain
property, known as 3. 1 AND 8 . 9 ACRES ON FM 518 as shown on
Exhibit "A" attached hereto is hereby changed to MULTIPLE FAMILY
RESIDENTIAL DWELLING (MFR-M) .
Section 3.� The Zoning District Map of the City of
Friendswood shall be revised and amended to show the zoning
elassification of the above described property, known as
3. 1 ACRES AND 8 . 9 ACRES located in the 2500 bloek of FM 528 and
Country Club Road as shown on Exhibit "A" as provided in Seetion
2 hereof, with the appropriate referenee thereon to the number
and effeetive date of the ordinance and brief deseription of the
nature of the change.
Seetion � This ordinanee shall in no manner amend , change,
supplement , or revise any provision of any ordinance of the City
of Friendswood , save and except the change in zoning
classification of said property, 3-1 and 8 . 9 aeres, as described
in Exhibit "A" as provided in Seetion 2.
