AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF
PROPERTY BEING A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 19 • 29 ACRES
LOCATED ON SUNSET (ADJACENT TO SUNPARK ESTATES
SUBDIVISION) , THE NORTH CORNER OF LOT 7 , BLOCK 5 ,
FRIENDSWOOD SUBDIVISION, SARAH MCKISSICK OR J .R.
WILLIAMS LEAGUE, FROM COMMUNITY SHOPPING CENTER (CSC)
TO SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL; AMENDING THE ZONING
DISTRICT MAP OF THE CITY AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE
N0. 84-15 ; AND CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO
THE SUBJECT.

WHEREAS , W. E . Murphy, agent for record owner Sun Park
Limited , has requested rezoning for a certain tract of land some
19 . 1499 acres located at Sunset (adjacent to Sunpark Estates) ,
situated within the corporate limits of the City of Friendswood ,
Texas , said tract being more particularly deseribed in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS; said property located at Sunset {adjacent to
Sunpark Estates) , some 19 . 1599 aeres of land , presently has a
zonin� elassification of COMMUNITY SHOPPING CENTER pursuant to
Ordinance No . 84-15 , passed and approved the 19th day of
November , 198� , same being the City of Friendswood Zoning
Ordinanee; and
WHEREAS, W. E. Murphy, Agent for Sun Park Limited record
owners for said property, has made application to the City of
Friendswood to change the zoning classification of said tract of
land from COMMUNITY SHOPPING CENTER TO SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE as
authorized by the City ' s Zoning Ordinanee ; and
WHEREAS, the Plannin� and Zoning Commission and the City

Council of the City of Friendswood have conducted , in the time
and manner and after the notice required by law and the Zonin�
Ordinanee of the City, a publie hearing on such request for
change in zoning classification; and
WHEREAS, the Plannin� and Zoning Commission has recommended
and the City Council now deems it appropriate to grant sueh
requested change in elassification; now, therefore BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD , STATE OF TEXAS:
Seetion 1.� The facts and matters set forth in the preamble
of this Ordinanee are hereby found to be true and correct .
Seetion � The zoning classification of that certain
property loeated at Sunset , sone 19 .29 acres as shown on
Exhibit "A" hereto is hereby ehanged from CSC to SFR .
Seeti4n 3..� The Zoning Distriet Map of the City of
Friendswood shall be revised and amended to show the zoning
elassification of the above described property located at
Sunset , so�e 19 .29 aeres of land as shown on Exhibit "A" as
provided in Section 2 hereof, with the appropriate reference
thereon to the number and effective date of the ordinanee
and brief description of the nature of the change .
Section � This Ordinanee shall in no manner amend , ehan�e ,
supplement , or revise any provision of any ordinance of the City
of Friendswood , save and except the change in zoning
elassification of said property located at Sunset Drive , some
19 . 29 acres of land as described in Exhibit TMA" as provided in
Seetion 2 .

PASSED and APPROVED on first reading this 19th day of
February, 1990 .
PASSED , APPROVED , and ADOPTED on second and final
reading this 5th day of March , 1990 •
