ORDINANCE N0. 88-7
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF A
CERTAIN 3 • 5 ACRE TRACT OF LAND FROM SINGLE FAMILY
RESIDENCE TO NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER ; DESCRIBING SAID 3 • 5
ACRE TRACT OF LAND ; AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP
OF THE CITY AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE N0. 84-15; AND
CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT.

WHEREAS , FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN INSURANCE CORP is the
owner of a certain 3 • 5 acre tract of land known as reserve L of
Polly Ranch Estates situated within the corporate limits of the
City of Friendswood , Texas , said tract being more particularly
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof;
and
WHEREAS; said 3 • 5 acre tract of land presently has a
zoning classification of SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE pursuant to
Ordinance No . 84-15 , passed and approved the 19th day of
November , 198� , same being the City of Friendswood Zoning
Ordinanee ; and
WHEREAS , FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN INSURANCE CORP . has made
application to the City of Friendswood to change the zoning
classification of said traet of land from SFR to NC , as
authorized by the City' s Zoning Ordinance ; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City
Council of the City of Friendswood have conducted , in the time
and manner and after the notice required by law and the Zoning
Ordinance of the City, a publie hearing on such request for
change in zoning classification; and
WHEREAS , the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended
and the City Council now deems it appropriate to grant such
requested change in elassification; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD ,
STATE OF TEXAS:
Section .1,=, The facts and matters set forth in the preamble
of this Ordinanee are hereby found to be true and correct .

' �eetion 2. The zoning elassification of that certain
3. 5 acre tract of land described in Exhibit "A" hereto is hereby
ehanged from SFR to NC .
Section 3� The Zonin� District Map of the City of
Friendswood shall be revised and amended to show the zoning
elassification of the above described 3 • 5 acre tract of land
as provided in Section 2 hereof, with the appropriate reference
thereon to the number and effective date of the Ordinance and
brief description of the nature of the change .
Section � This Ordinanee shall in no manner amend , ehan�e ,
supplement , or revise any provision of any ordinanee of the City
of Friendswood , save and exeept the chan�e in zoning
classification of the 3 • 5 acre tract of land described in
Section 2 hereof.
PASSED and APPROVED on first readin� this 1st day of August ,
1988 .
PASSED , APPROVED , and ADOPTED on second and final reading
this 15th day of Au�ust , 1988 .

All that certain 3. 5299 acres being out of Reserve "L" � Replat
of Polly Ranch Subdivision according to the plat recorded in
Volume 15, Page 4 Galveston County Map Records and being more
particularly described as follows;
Beginning at a found 5/8" iron rod �marking the intersection of
the northeasterly right-of-way line of F. M. 518 <R/W Varies)
with the westerly right-of-way line o� Oak Drive (80' wide> .
Thence N 26 07' 38" W - 39. 63' along the northeasterly line af
that certain 0. 58�,,.acre tract described in a right-of-way deed
dated 4/05/1980 from Polly Ranch Estates� Inc. to State of Texas
filed in Volume 3253, Page 401 Galveston County Deed Records�
establishing the new northea�terly right-of-way line of said
F. M. 518 to a found 5/8" iro�n rod being a point on a curve
having a central angle of 00 56' 39" , a radius of 2� 934. 79' � the
center of said curve being located on a radial line bearing S 64
39' 46" W from said point;
Thence in a northwesterly direction along said curve and the
northeasterly right-of-way line of F. M. 518 an arc distance of
48. 34' to a found 5/8" iron rod;
Thence N 26 40' 20" W - 263. 35' continuing along said F. M. 518
to a found 5/8" iron rod being a point on a curve having a
central angle of 05 56' 1?" � a radius of 2� 934. ?9' � the center
of said curve being located on a radial line bearing �S 63 24'

Thence in a northwesterly direction along said curve and the
