AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD ORDINAi�IC� NOe 291 ,
PASSED AND APPROVED AS OF NOVEMBER 7, 1977, AND KNOWN AS THE
ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF A
CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND FROM C-1 tU R-3; CHANGING THE ZOEITNG
MAP ACCORDINGLY; AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS RELATING TO
THE SUBJECT.
WHEREAS, the Friendswood City Council and the Friendswood
Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a joint public hearing
on June 13, 1983, to consider the rezoning of the hereinafter
described parcel of land from C-1 to R-3; and
WHEREAS, the hearing was duly called as provided by the laws
of the State of Texas and Ordinance No. 291 of the City of
Friendswood, and that in such hearing all persons attending were
allowed to be heard on the question of whether or no�t the
rezoning of said property from C-1 to R-3 would affect the
public health, safety, morale, convenience or general welfare
of the citizens of Friendswood, and whether or not such rezoning
would violate the rights of any inLerested persons; now, therefore,
BE TT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
STATE OF TEXAS:
Section 1 . City of Friendswood, Texas, Ordinance N0 . 291 ,
passed and approved on November 7 , 1977, ancl known as the Zoning
Ordinance, is hereby amended by changing the zoning classification
of the following described property from C-1 to R-3 :
Parcel 1 : A 5. 000 acre tract out of lot 25 of
Voss Subdivisi�n, Sarah McKissick League, Galveston
County, Texas, according to the plat as recorded in
Volume 254-A, Page 9 of the Galveston County Clerk ' s
Records :
Commencing at the South corner of lot 24 of Voss
Subdivision according to the plat of Friendswood
Forest Subdivision as recorded in Volume 254-A,
Paae 79 of the Galveston Countv Clerk' s REcords;
Thence S 44° 53 ' 00" W 95. 00 feet to the point of
intersection of the Northwest line of Leisure Lane
and the Southwest line of Winding Way according to
the Right-of Way deed as recorded in Volume 3101 ,
Page 54 of the Galveston County Deed Records, said
point beincr the point of beainnina of this tract;
Thence continuina S 44° 53 ' 00" W 583 . 10 feet alona
the Northwest line of Leisure Lane to A 1/2" iron
rod set at the South corner of said lot 25;
Thence N 45° 00 ' 00" E 628 . 10 feet to an iron rod
in the Southwest line of Windinq Wav accordina to
the Riqht-of Wav deed as recorded in Deed Volume 3101 ,
Paqe 54 of the Galveston Countv Clrek' s Records;
Thence S 45° 00 ' 00" E along said Right-of-Way
a distance of 105. 26 feet;
Thence S 34° 48 ' 15" E 254 . 22 feet along said
Right-of-Way line to the point of beginning and
containing 16 . 3578 acres including 0 . 44 acre in
Winding Way as fenced and also includina 0 . 1 acre
in lot 13 which lies between the deed call and the
boundarv line as staked.
Parcel 2 : A 4 . 4239 acre tract out of lot 25 of
Voss Subdivision, Sarah McKissick League, Galveston
County, Texas, according to the plat as recorded in
Volume 254-A, Page 9 of the Galveston County Clerk' s
Records:
Commencing at the South corner of lot 24 of Voss
Subdivision according to the plat of Friendswood
Forest Subdivision a recorded in Volume 254-A,
Page 79 of the Galveston County Clerk' s Records;
Thence S 44° 53 ' 00" W 95. 00 feet to the point of
intersection of th Northwest line of Leisure Lane
and the Southwest line of Winding Way according to
the Right-of-Way deed as recorded in Volume 3101 ,
Page 54 of the Galveston County Deed Records;
Thence N 34° 48 ' 15" E 254 . 22 feet along the Southwest
Right-of-Way line of Winding Way;
Thence N 45° 00 ' 00" W 105.26 feet along the Southwest
line of Winding Way to the point of beginning of this
tract;
Thence S 45° 00 ' 00" W 628 . 10 feet to an iron rod in the
Southwest line of said lot 25;
Thence N 45° 00 ' 00" W 307 . 18 feet to an iron rod at the
West corner of said lot 25 ;
Thence N 45° 16 ' 12" E 158 . 03 feet to an iron rod;
Thence N 45° 00" 00" E 470 . 07 feet to an iron rod in
the Southwest line of Winding Way according to the
Right-of-Way deed as recorded in Deed Volume 3101,
Page 54 of the Galveston County Clerk' s Records;
Thence S 45° 00 ' 00" E 306 . 44 feet along sai� Right-
of-Way line to the point of beginning and containing
4 . 4239 acres of land.
Section 2 . The official zoninq map of the City shall be
revised to show the above described tract rezoned from C-1 to
R-3 .
Section 3 . This ordinance shall in no way reduce, amend,
supplement, or change any provision of any ordinance of the
City of Friendswood other than to accomplish the rezoning of the
tract described in Section 1 from C-1 to R-3.
