AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD ORDINANCE
P10. 291, PASSED AND APPROVED OP1 NOVEMBER 7 , 1977 , AND
KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY , BY CHANGING
THE ZONING OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND FROM R-1 TO R-6 ;
CHANGING THE ZONING MAP ACCORDINGLY ; AND PROVIDING FOR
OTHER MATTERS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT.
WHEREAS , the Friendswood City Council and the Friendswood
Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a joint public hearing
on January 4 , 1982 , to consider the rezoning of the hereinafter
described parcel of land from R-1 to R-6 ; and
WHEREAS , the hearing was duly called as provided by the laws
of the State of Texas and Ordinance No. 291 of the City of
Friendswood, and that in such hearing all persons attending were
allowed to be heard on the question of whether or not the rezoning
of said property from R-1 to R-6 would affect the public health,
safety, morale , convenience or general welfare of the citizens of
Friendswood , and whether or not such rezoning would violate the
rights of any interested persons ; now, therefore ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
STATE OF TEXAS :
Section l. City of Friendswood, Texas , Ordinance No. 291 ,
passed and approved on November 7 , 1977 , and known as the Zoning
Ordinance , is hereby amended by changing the zoning classification
of the following described property from R-1 to R-6 :
All that certain . 344 Acre Tract of land, being a portion of
Lot 17 of the E. Hoidale Coffman , a subdivision of 200 Acres
of land out of the B. B . B. and C . R/R Survey, Abstract 46 ,
Galveston County, Texas , said E. Hoidale Subdivision thereof
recorded in Volume 238 on page 13 in the office of the
County Clerk of said Galveston County , Texas , and said tract
of land to be rezoned to R-6 more particularly described by
metes and bounds as follows :
BEGINNING 400 feet N 45� E along the centerline of said 40
foot street R. O .W. from the Northwest corner of said Lot 17 ,
being 400 feet N 45� E of the intersection of the centerline
of a 60 foot street R. O.W. with the centerline of a 40 foot
street R. O.W. in the E. Hoidale Subdivision ;
THENCE N 45° E along the centerline of said 40 foot street
R. O .W. , a distance of 100 feet to a point for corner;
THETJCE S 44° 37 ' E , (map calls for S 45� E) , a total of 150
feet to a point for corner, being the Southeast corner of
area to be rezoned R-6 ;
THENCE 45° W, a total distance of 100 feet to a point for
corner, being the Southwest corner of area to be rezoned
to R-6 ;
THENCE N 44° 37 ' 10" W. , (map calls for N 45° W) , a dis-
tance of 150 feet to the P . O . B. ;
CONTAINING . 344 Acres of land, more or less . ( . 045 Acres
in R. O.W. ) (See attached drawing)
Section 2 . The official zoning map of the City shall be
revised to show the above described tract rezoned from R-1 to
R-6 .
Section 3. This ordinance shall in no way reduce , amend,
supplement , or change any provision of any ordinance of the City
of Friendswood other than to accomplish the rezoning of the
tract described in Section 1 from R-1 to R-6 .
