AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD ORDINANCE N0. 291 ,
PASSED AND APPROVED ON NOVEMBER 7 , 1977 AND KNOWN AS THE
ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY , BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF A
CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND FROM R-1 to R-4 ; CHANGING THE ZONING
MAP ACCORDINGLY; AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS RELATING TO
THE SUBJECT.
WHEREAS , the Friendswood City Council and the Friends-
, ,
wood Planning and Zor.ing Commission conducted a joint public
hearing on March 27 , 1980 to consider the rezoning of the
hereinafter described parcel of land from R-1 to R-4 ; and
WHEREAS , the hearing was duly called as provided by the
laws of the State of Texas and Ordinance No. 291 of the City of
Friendswood , and that in such hearing all persons attending
were allowed to be heard on the question of whether or not the
rezoning of said property from R-1 to R-4 would affect the
public health , safety, morale , convenience or general welfare
of the citizens of Friendswood , and whether or not such re-
zoning would violate the rights of any interested persons ;
now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD ,
STATE OF TEXAS :
Section 1 . City of Friendswood , Texas , Ordinance No. 291 ,
passed and approved on November 7 , 1977 , and known as the Zoning
Ordinance, is hereby amended by changing the zoning classi.fica-
tion of the following described property from R-1 to R-4 : ,
Being a tract of land containing 55 . 23 acres out of and
part of the George W. Patterson Survey , No. 6 , Abstract
645 , also out of and part of the B . S . � F . Survey No. 5 ,
Abstract , and also being out of and part of the Mary Sloan
Survey , No. 5 , Abstract 184 , Galveston County , Texas . Said
55 . 23 acres being more particularly described as follows :
COMMENCING a�t the intersection of the Northeasterly right-
of-way line of Cypress Point Drive (80 foot right-of-way)
and the Northwesterly right-o�-way line of F.M. Road 528
(100 foot right-of-way) ;
THENCE S 48° 48 ' S2" E, a distance of 100 . 00 feet to the
Southeasterly right-of-way line of said F'. M. 528 ;
THENC£ S 41° 11 ' 08" W , al�rig the said Soutiieaster�y right-
of-way line of P. M. 528 , a distance of 80 . 00 feet to a
point for corner;
THENCE S 48° 48 ' 52" E , a distance of 155 . 16 feet to the
beginning of a curve to the Left ;
THENCE along said curve having a Radius of 1270 . 00 feet
a distance of 422 . 47 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
THENCE continuing along said curve having a Radius of 1270 . 00
feet a length of 98 . 10 feet to the end of said curve ;
THENCE S 72° 18 ' 00" E , a distance of 424 . 97 feet to a
point for corner in the Northwesterly line of a 50 foot
Phillips Petroleum Co. Easement as in Book 1737 , Page 515 ,
Galveston County Records ;
THENCE S 18° 18 ' 21" W , along said 50 foot Phillips Petr=oleum
Co. Eastment a distance of 2099 . 41 feet to a point for
corner;
THENCE S 89° 52 ' 14" E , a distance of 779 . 52 feet to a
point for corner;
THENCE S 09° 50 ' 27" E , a distance of 272 . 78 feet to a
point for corner;
THENCE N 79° 57 ' 24" W, a distance of 684 . 11 feet to a
point for corner in the Southeasterly right-of-way line
of F.M. 528 , (100 foot right-of-way) ;
THENCE N 09� 55 ' 30" E , along said Southeasterly line of
F.M. 528 , (1Q0 foot right-of-way) a distance of 824 . 37
feet to a point for corner ;
THENCE S 80� 04 ' 30" E, a distance of 510 . 53 feet to a
point for corner;
THENCE N 09° 26 ' 35" E , a distance of 799 . 60 feet to a point
for corner;
THENCE S 79° 57 ' 30" E, a distance of 461. 39 feet to a point
for corner;
THENCE N 09° 25 ' 16" E , a distance of 472 . 63 feet to a point

PLACE OF BEGINNING.
Section 2 . The official zoning map of the City shall be
revised to show the above described tract rezoned from R-1 to
R-4 , and the date of final passage of the ordinance.
Section 3 . This ordinance shall in no way reduce , amend ,
supplement , or change any provision of any ordinance of the City
of Friendswood other than to accomplish the rezoning of the �tract
described in Section 1 from R-1 to R-4 .
