HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 79-07 ORDINANCE NO. 3 3 4/7 g °— ���� AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, ORDINANCE N0. 291, PASSED AND APPROVED ON NOVEMBER 7, 1977, AND KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING FROM R-1 to R-3 A CERTAIN PARCAL OF LAND; AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT. WHEREAS, the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission and the Friendswood City Council conducted a joint public hearing on the 5th day of October, 1978, to consider the rezoning of the hereinafter described parcel of land from R-1 to R-3; and WHEREAS, the hearing was duly called as provided by the laws of the State of Texas and Ordinance No. 291 of the City of Friendswood, and that at such hearings all persons attending were allowed to be heard on the question of whether or not the rezoning of such tract from R-1 to R-3 would affect the public health, safety, morale, convenience or general welfare and whether or not such rezoning would violate the rights of any interested persons; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS: Section l. City of Friendswood, Texas, Ordinance No. 291, passed and approved on November 7, 1977, and known as the Zoning Ordinance, is hereby amended by changing the zoning classification of a certain tract of land, containing approximately 14.141 acres, more or less, said tract being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the most Westerly corner of Pilgrim's Point Subdivision as recroded in Book 15 page 153 of the Galveston County Map Records, said point also being on the NE side of Winding Way Drive (60' ROW) . THENCE N 43° 35' 00" E a distance of 1290' to the POINT OF BEGINNING of the tract herein described. THENCE N 46° 25' 00" W 779.46' to a point in the meanderings of Coward Creek to a point for corner. FROM SAID CORNER, following the meanderings of Coward Creek: N 66° 04' 08" E a distance of 186.83' N 37° 07' S1" E a distance of 87.80' N 16° 54' 33" W a distance of 130.65' N 05° 00' 21" W a distance of 137.53' N 76° 16' 40" E a distance of 88.53' S 78° 41' 24" E a distance of 81.58' S 56° 26' 23" E a distance of 367.21' N 80° 38' 49" E a distance of 86.15' N 31° 21' 26" E a distance of 74.97' N 07° 18' 21" E a distance of 196.60' N 54° 43' 39" E a distance of 50.22' S 47° 49' 16" E a distance of 244.25' S 82° 30' 15" E a distance of 76.66' N 65° 11' tp" E a distance of 145.41' S 87° 08' 15" E a distance of 120.15` S 02° 30' 45" W a distance of 49.81' S 26° 21' 05" E a distance of 61.60' S 46° 08' 20" E a distance of 97.89' to a place for corner. Section 2. The official zoning map of the City shall be revised to show the above described tract rezoned from R-1 to R-3 and the date of final passage of the ordinance. Section 3. This ordinance shall in no way reduce, amend, supplement, or change any provision of any ordinance of the City of Friendswood other than to accomplish the rezoning of the tract described in Section 1 from R-1 to R-3.
