AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE ZONI�JG OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R-1 TO
C-1 ; CHANGING THE ZONING MAP ACCORDINGLY; COMPLYING WfiTH ORDINANCE
N0. 174 OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS the City Council finds that the Friendswood Zoning Commission
conducted a public hearing on the 7th day of March, 1974 to consider the
question of rezoning of the hereinafter described tract of land from R-1
to C-1; and
WHEREAS the hearing was duly called as provided by the laws of the
State of Texas and Ordinance No. 174 of the City of Friends��ood, and at
such hearing all persons attending ��ere a1lowed to be heard on the question
of whether or not the rezoning of the tract from R-1 to C-1 would affect
the public health, safetyy morals, convenience or general we1fare and whether
or not such rezoning would violate the rights of any interested persons;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS:
Section 1 . That the zoning of the following described property be and
the same is hereby changed from R-1 to C-1 within the meaning of the Zoning
Ordinance, being generally described as the Flackney site at the corner of
Woodlawn and Heritage, being 380 feet by 630 feet approximately and being
all of that portion of the b1ock bounded by ��est Heritaqes Wood�awn, West
Edgewood, and South Friendswood Drive that is not already zoned as C-1� and
being more specificall,y described as follows:
Commencing at the �outh corner of Lot 4, B1ock 2, Friendswood Subdivision,
Sarah �cKissick League, Galveston County„ Texas;
THENCE in a northeaster1y direction along the Southeast 1ine of Lot 4,
a distance of 30 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE in a North�resterly direction, para71e1 to the Southwest 1ine
of Lot 4, a distance of 30.00 feet to the place of beginning of the
tract hereinafter described, said point being the point of inter-
section of the Northwester�y right-of-way line of Heritage Drive
with the Northeasterly right-of-way line of Woodlawn Drive;
THENCE from said beginning corner in a Northeaster1y direction parallel
to the Southeas� line of Lot 4 and alonq the Northwesterly right-of-way
line of Heritage Drive, a distance of 630 feet to a point for corner
in the Northeast line of Lot 4;
THENCE in a Northwesterly direction� along the Northeast line of Lot 4,
a distance of 380 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE in a Southwesterly direction, para11e1 to the Southeasterly
line of Lot 4, a distance of 630 feet to a point for corner in the
hdortheasterly right-of-way line of Woodlawn Drive;
THENCE in a Southeaster1y direction� parallel to the Southwest line
of Lot 4 and a1ong the Pdortheaster1y right-of-way line of Woodlawn
Drive, a distance of 380 feet �o the p�ace of beginning.
Section 2. That the official zoning map of the City be revised to
show the tract rezoned from R-1 to C-1 and the date of final aassage of
this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance sha11 in no wise reduce, amendg supp1ement
or change any provision of any ordinance of the City of Friendswood other
than to accomplish the rezoning of the tract described in Section 1 herein
from R-1 to C-� and imoose the findings and limitations ordained herein.
